This year, GMA-7 brings back the fun-filled musical show inreplacement of the time slot vacated by Pinoy Idol. Every Saturday,viewers will get to see personalities from diverse fields trying their hand atsinging along with the singer of their choice.
This weekly show will follow the eventful lives of thecelebrity contestants as they are trained and transformed into being the nextmusical sensations. Each week, a celebrity will be paired with an establishedsinger to train and to guide them from their choice of song to their actualduet in front of a panel of judges and a live studio audience.
Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando, fashion designerJC Buendia, actor-politician Joey Marquez, model-turned-actress MelanieMarquez, chef JL Cang, professional soccer player Phil Younghusband, beautyqueen Carlene Aguilar, and lifestyle guru Cory Quirino make up the eightnon-singing celebrity contestants who will compete in the second season of CelebrityDuets.
This season's panel of judges is composed ofplaywright-director Floy Quintos, composer-arranger Danny Tan, and all aroundsocial butterfly and Celebrity Duets' first grand winner, TessaPrieto-Valdes. All three are equally responsible in assisting and influencingthe viewing public as to who deserves their text votes.
The winner will get to choose a charity of his or her choiceto which he or she will donate in whole or in part the one million peso grandprize.
