Based on personal experience, James Reid said that he has no trouble dealing with a gay friend who admits to being attracted to him.
“Well, he was a friend, so of course he understood [that I can't return his feelings].
“But I'm totally okay with gay friends. That's totally fine with me.”
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and Philippine Daily Inquirer was able to interview James at the Grab Philippines fan meet, held at Whitespace, Makati City last Wednesday, August 24.
Asked about his stand on same-sex marriage, the Kapamilya actor maintained that he sees nothing wrong with it.
“We should be free to do whatever we want. I'm all for it.”
NEW TV SOAP. James is set to headline ABS-CBN's primetime series, Till I Met You, which will tackle a love triangle between James, Nadine Lustre and JC Santos.
“Actually, the story is very one of a kind. I don't want to give it a way... But it's not just about LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender]... it's more mature.”
The Kapamilya actor added that he's excited to learn that Till I Met You is scheduled on an earlier timeslot compared to the previous Jadine teleserye, On The Wings of Love, which won PEP List Year 3's Primetime Series of The Year.
“Siyempre may presure kasi primetime [yung timeslot]. But I believe in the story, directors, [and] actors. I'm very confident [with our teleserye].”
