GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar explains that the delay of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza's teleserye is because of extensive preparations for their first primetime soap opera. "They deserve a well-thought-of and well-crafted soap opera that is not rushed and done haphazardly."

GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar reached out to fans of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza to explain why the AlDub teleserye has been taking long to be produced.

She posted on her Instagram account yesterday, August 31, to share her statement regarding the delay of the TV series.

The Kapuso executive wrote, "Just so the speculations don't become blown out of proportion, here is the truth - we would want nothing more than to show an AlDub soap opera in primetime.

"That is our priority and that is what we are continuously working on since July."

Abrogar also included in her statement that they only want the best for AlDub's first TV series, prompting the delay of the primetime soap.

She continued, "However, please understand also that this will be the first soap opera of Alden and Maine and they deserve a well-thought-of and well-crafted soap opera that is not rushed and done haphazardly.

"Hopefully, one of the concepts will be approved soon by both the management team of Alden and of course, Maine's management team."

Miss Annette also addressed issues regarding Alden and Maine's separate assignments, especially since Alden is set to appear in the fantasy series Encantadia soon.

"In the meantime, if Alden has separate assignments from Maine, it does not mean that these assignments will contradict the AlDub loveteam.

"I would also suppose that the same is true for Maine's endeavors even if these do not include Alden.

"There is no intent on the part of GMA to pair Alden with another girl aside from Maine."

"So instead of fighting and arguing amongst ourselves, let us unite and support AlDub and pray for all their upcoming projects together whether it be a soap opera, a movie or any other projects that will come their way."

In a report published by (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last August 11, it was confirmed that Alden will not do the role of Matteo Do in My Love From The Star and instead, he and Maine will star in their own primetime series.
