Real life couple Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida had to work on their compatibility onscreen

When Tommy Esguerra was asked if he and Miho Nishida experienced any difficulty in their first teleserye, he replied, "We had to work on our compatibility onscreen because totoong couple kami."

Real-life couple Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida admitted they had to go through a series of workshops before taping for their first teleserye together titled
Langit Lupa.

At the press conference of the show last November 23, Tommy said he realized it is harder to portray the role of a couple even if he's in a real relationship with Miho.

He told entertainment reporters, “We had to work on our compatibility onscreen because totoong couple kami.

We're not in it for showbiz, we're actually a real couple.

Putting that on TV is a little more difficult outside than just being ourselves because we're playing characters na.”

To address this problem, he disclosed, “We just do workshops, team building if that's what you call it, where we can be able to project what it is we want to show for the audience.

Workshops talaga, that really it is because, obviously, we're really pretty close.

So the workshop is what really made it easy for us.”

Miho echoed Tommy's statement.

She said, “Ang workshop na po 'yon, marami naman po kaming natutunan.”

Miho gratefully pointed out how helpful their co-actors and co-workers were to them since they're both relatively new to acting.

“Bago naman po kami isalang, lahat ng concerns namin... Kunwari kailangan namin alamin ang mga linya namin o kaya di lang linya namin kundi pati kung ano 'yong kwento ng Langit Lupa para malaman din namin kung papaano ipo-project 'yong character namin.

At saka kapag hindi po namin alam, siyempre, nagtatanong din po kami sa mga kasama namin kung paano namin gagawin.”

Despite the difficulties, Miho said that she and Tommy still managed to enjoy their job.

She said with a smile, “Sa mga staff ng Langit Lupa, actually, mababait naman sila kaya nae-enjoy naming gawin.”

Langit Lupa will start airing this Monday, November 28, before It's Showtime on ABS-CBN.

Aside from Tommy and Miho, this Kapamilya show also features young onscreen couple Jairus Aquino and Sharlene San Pedro, Alessandra de Rossi, Patrick Garcia, Yam Concepcion, Jason Abalos, Ellen Adarna, Buboy Garovillo, Viveika Ravanes, Kitkat, as well as child stars Xia Vigor, and Yesha Camile.

It will be directed by Carlo Po Artillaga and Myla Ajero-Gaite.
