After being paired with various teen actors in past TV shows, Julia Barretto gets two new leading men on the big screen: Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte.
They are the lead stars of the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Vince & Kath & James.
On December 25, moviegoers will find out who her character will end up with in this Star Cinema movie directed by Theodore "Ted" Boborol.
As a result of this project, Julia has formed a new love team with Ronnie called RonLia.
Julia announced in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters during their December 6 press con that she already has a follow-up project with Ronnie: ABS-CBN's teleserye A Love To Last starring Bea Alonzo and Ian Veneracion.
She said in jest, "Meron po kasi kaming follow-up project. A Love To Last, January sa Primetime Bida!"
Without giving any details about their characters, she said, "Maganda rin po yung magiging story naming dalawa doon."
In Julia's June 8 guesting in the talk show Magandang Buhay, she revealed that she is learning ballet for this Kapamilya teleserye.
During the story conference of the said teleserye (which was still titled The Second Wife then), Julia posed with Enchong Dee and Vin Abrenica for a photo, implying that they will form a love triangle for the show.
Ronnie was not present during the story conference.
However, Enchong later on clarified in an interview with PEP that he is not paired with Julia in the series.
In the trade trailer of this upcoming series that serves as ABS-CBN's opening salvo for 2017, Julia was shown to be the eldest daughter of Ian Veneracion and Iza Calzado's characters.
RONLIA TANDEM. Julia has had a string of love team partners in the past.
The 19-year-old actress was first paired with Diego Loyzaga in an installment of Wansapantaym in 2013.
They were supposed to work again for the teleserye Mira Bella along with Kiko Estrada, but ABS-CBN management decided to pair her with Enrique Gil when the series premiered in 2014. It aired for 15 weeks.
In 2015, Julia was paired with Inigo Pascual in another installment of Wansapantaym. It was also announced that they will star in the teleserye And I Love You So along with Miles Ocampo. They also did the movie Para sa Hopeless Romantic.
However, when And I Love You So aired in December 2015, Inigo was already paired with Miles while Julia had Pinoy Big Brother housemate Kenzo Gutierrez as her leading man.
Now that Julia has found a new love team partner in Ronnie, how does she intend to take care of their team-up dubbed as RonLia?
She answered, "I think kailangan para magwork ang isang love team, willing yung dalawa na mag-work out yung love team.
"A love team is all about teamwork, dedication and loyalty sa isa't isa kasi siyempre, it’s normal in our industry na ma-link tayo sa maraming katrabaho natin.
"Pero if we're gonna stay loyal doon sa magiging decision ng management na maging kapartner natin, it will really work out, kasi gusto ng mga Pinoy ang loyalty.
"And if they see it with us, yun na yung magiging happiness nila and kailangan naming mabigay yun.
Does this mean that her previous onscreen partners weren't loyal to their team-up during that time?
Julia clarified, "Hindi naman sa ganun. It's destiny, baka I'm not destined [for them].
"Oo, siguro yung mga ka-love team nila ngayon, yun yung destiny nila.
"Iba naman yung destiny sa akin, iba yung plan ng Diyos sa akin."
Ronnie (who was first paired with Sue Ramirez) has also promised to focus on his love team with Julia.
"Siguro kasi ako, nagfofocus ako talaga kung sino yung katrabaho ko, e.
"Si Julia, katrabaho ko siya sa teleserye, sa kanya ako magfofocus na ilapit ko pa yung loob ko sa kanya para magwork talaga yung chemistry sa kanya."
