The British father of Xia Vigor denied allegations that his daughter is being "sexualised" in a "creepy" way.
In fact, Alan Vigor revealed that they have received an offer from a Hollywood director for Xia to portray the famous child star Shirley Temple.
Xia recently caught the attention of international publications for her impersonation of Taylor Swift on ABS-CBN's Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.
The seven-year-old British-Filipino child star wore a white marching band uniform that was removed halfway through her performance to reveal a sparkling dress underneath, just like Taylor.
Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan said about Xia's performance: "It's one of the creepiest things I've ever watched."
Morgan also said on the British show: "It's not good. The whole sexualisation of young girls like this, I don't like it at all I'm afraid, and that is my withering verdict.
"Everyone is saying 'Oh it's so cute'... it's not cute. Don't like it. It just means that millions of young girls are going to be slapping on makeup and lipstick and all that. It's not right."
Tha parents of Xia, Alan and Christy Bernardo, responded by giving an exclusive interview to dailymail.co.uk.
Alan said about the Good Morning Britain host: "He's wrong … We know the bigger picture over here so we don't worry about Piers Morgan."
He continued: "He's wrong. He doesn't understand the context. The culture here is very, very different. People in the Philippines see things differently.
"On the show next week, Xia is going to dress up as Axl Rose. It's like a pantomime. It's been taken out of context. She's not going a friend's birthday party in high heels and lipstick. It's not like that. She would never dress up like that on a normal day."
Alan also disclosed that Xia is being eyed to portray Shirley Temple in a Hollywood project. Dubbed as America's Sweetheart, Shirley became famous during the 1930s and was known for receiving an Academy Award at age six.
"A Hollywood director contacted us and said he wants her over in America," said Alan in his interview with MailOnline.
Alan recalled the director telling him: "'I've been waiting all my life for the next Shirley Temple and I've finally found her.'"
The 50-year-old father, who is separated from Xia's mother, narrated: "The director calls Christy and he's persuading her to go over there because he has promised this package and everything. But I'm very reluctant. I don't want her to go because it's too far away from me.
"I don't want to be so far away from her. At the moment I can hop on a flight and be there in 45 minutes and I go there as often as I can and we pick up where we left off. If she goes to the States it won't be that simple."
Xia's mother, Christy Bernardo, also denied allegations that she is exploiting her daughter.
"Xia is very into everything. She is a very inquisitive girl and she wants to do a lot of things and I want to give her that chance.
"People may say she's on TV and I'm exploiting her but she does many things people don't see.
"At Christmas we visited a poor village and she gave her toys away to the children there."
