JC De Vera will show different facets of himself in the GMA-7 drama anthology Obra, which airs every Thursday starting September 11 (Thursday).

After the successful portrayal of Katrina Halili in GMA-7's newest drama anthology called Obra comes another Kapuso artist who promises to take acting and drama to a new level. On September 11, viewers will be able to judge the versatility of JC De Vera as he takes the spotlight in Obra.

JC, whose real name is John Carlo de Vera, is a homegrown talent of the Kapuso Network. He started in GMA-7's youth-oriented show Click, have proven over the years that he is more than just a handsome face. His versatility in acting has been showcased in various GMA programs like Telebabad's Babangon Ako't Dururugin Kita, Sine Novela's Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso and Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig.

JC will prove once more his mantle in acting as he portrays four daring and provocative roles in four episodes titled "Pretty Boy," "Daddy Dearest," "Rehas," and "Liwanag Sa Dilim" directed by the country's premiere directors namely Joel Lamangan, Maryo J. Delos Reyes, Mac Alejandre, and Jun Lana.

It is surprising to learn that JC himself suggested that he take on the role of a macho dancer. He explained: "Gusto kong maging versatile, hindi dahil gusto kong magpa-sexy o mayabang ako dahil maganda ang katawan ko. Sabi sa akin, I can suggest kung anong role ang gusto ko at ito ang naisip ko. I am happy sa naging resulta."

Obra's "Pretty Boy" tells the touching story of a man who wants to make a decent living but poverty pushed him to the world of macho dancing. Then Obra brings to light the funny situation of a young man who is about to get married when he discovers that his father and uncle are gays in "Dearest Daddy." The episode "Rehas," meanwhile, reveals the plight of an innocent inmate who later succumbs to the unjust and wicked culture inside the penitentiary. "Liwanag sa Dilim," on the other hand, is the story of a disabled person searching for love and miracle.
