Jasmine Curtis TV5 contract already ended; will she be part of Mulawin vs Ravena?

The company handling the career of Jasmine Curtis-Smith denied that she will be part of GMA-7's upcoming telefantasya Mulawin vs. Ravena.

Social media was abuzz yesterday, January 24, when Jasmine Curtis-Smith was rumored to be part of GMA-7's Mulawin vs. Ravena.

A showbiz blogsite claimed that the former TV5 actress has auditioned for a role and even described it as "impressive."

However, Vidanes Celebrity Marketing, the talent management company handling Jasmine's career, denied that Jasmine auditioned for a role in the Kapuso telefantasya.

The talent agency took to Instagram today, January 25, to release an official statement.

It reads: "According to gossip blogsite, Fashion Pulis, there is a rumor circulating that Jasmine will be part of an upcoming show titled 'Mulawin.'

"To set the record straight, Jasmine has not been to audition for anything yet since her contract has ended with TV5.

"Her current focus is making the rest of her holiday count with her family and at the same time planning for her next career move.

"We are flattered but there is no truth to the gossip being talked about."

Jasmine's contract with TV5 expired in November 2016.

She started her showbiz career in 2010 under the Kapatid network. Since then, she topbilled the TV5 teleseryes Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum (2011), Nandito Ako (2012), and Undercover (2013). She starred in the telemovie The Replacement Bride and led the episode of Wattpad Presents with Derek Ramsay in 2014.

The sister of Anne Curtis was also given a self-titled thriller miniseries, Jasmine.

In 2015, Jasmine was paired with Vin Abrenica for TV5's Philippine adaptation of the Koreanovela My Fair Lady.

She also served as the leading lady of Richard Gutierrez in TV5 and VIVA's remake of Ang Panday in 2016. On that same year, the actress played third wheel to Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza in the movie Imagine You and Me.

While she is not busy with TV projects, Jasmine is part of the upcoming movie I'm Drunk, I Love You starring Maja Salvador and Paulo Avelino.

It was previously announced that Dennis Trillo will be included in the cast of Mulawin vs. Ravena. He was part of the original version of Mulawin that aired way back in 2004.

Last January 16, GMA executives revealed the other cast members of Mulawin vs. Ravena namely Regine Velasquez, Chynna Ortaleza, and Kapuso love teams Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix, as well as Bea Binene and Derrick Monasterio.

No announcement has been made regarding the airing date of Mulawin vs. Ravena on GMA-7.
