Before she became the woman we look up to as Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach showed her acting chops as a TV actress.
Using the name Pia Romero, she made her television debut on ABS-CBN back in 2002.
During her showbiz days, Pia did five TV shows: three teleseryes, a sitcom, and a youth-oriented show.
Now that her Miss Universe reign is about to end, will Pia make a comeback as an actress?
Let's take a look back at the TV shows that Pia did before her reign as Miss Universe 2015.
Following the trends set by Gimik (1996), Tabing Ilog (1999), and G-Mik (1999), ABS-CBN and Star Magic (then called ABS-CBN Talent Center) formed a show to serve as a launching platform for new teen actresses. This led to the creation of K2BU, or short for "It's Okay To Be Yourself."
Shaina Magdayao (leftmost) was joined by newbies (L-R) Pia Romero, Bea Alonzo, and Angelene Aguilar. The show aired every Saturday afternoon.
In this series, Pia played Jewel, and her character was paired with Mico Palanca.
Angelene was paired with Dennis Trillo, Bea with Adrian Albert, and Shaina had Alwyn Uytingco as love team partner.
Unfortunately, the series did not match the success of its predecessors and ended in less than a year.
It Might Be You (2003)
Pia was reunited with K2BU co-star Bea in It Might Be You where she played Allison, a friend of Lawrence, played by John Lloyd Cruz.
Bora: Sons of the Beach (2005)
Bora was a sitcom that aired Wednesday nights on ABS-CBN. It featured Piolo Pascual, Carlos Agassi, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, and Bernard Palanca, who became collectively known as The Hunks.
In this weekly comedy show, Pia played a character whose name is also Pia. She is the cousin of PJ (Piolo) who helps him in his bar.
This is the show where Pia met Pauleen Luna, who eventually became her lifelong best friend. When Pauleen got married to Vic Sotto, she got Pia to join her bridal entourage.
You were 12 and I was 13. We had nothing but BIG dreams. I remember we would choose to buy food in Mini Stop instead of Brother's Burger in ABS because we only had little money. We would patiently go to workshop every single day because we wanna be big stars! We would wait for hours at taping because our scenes were only very few. We even shared one role in a movie. I will never forget those days. Simple and days made up of dreams. And now, it's so nice to know that we've both come so far. We're both blessed, in our own way, and I must say, 2015 is both our year! I am very glad also that you have found a deep relationship with the Lord. CONGRATULATIONS MISS UNIVERSE! I am equally proud of you before as I am proud of you now. You have such a good and kind heart. You totally deserve this! Congratulations P! Love you! @piawurtzbach ????????
Sa Piling Mo (2006)
Pia played a minor role in this show starring Judy Ann Santos, Albert Martinez, and Piolo Pascual.
She portrayed the character of Julia and served as third wheel to the love team of Maja Salvador and John Wayne Sace.
After Sa Piling Mo, Pia took a break from show business until she resurfaced in 2011 to be part of several Maalaala Mo Kaya episodes.
In 2012, Pia had a special participation in the fantasy-series Aryana as Jelay, or the woman alter-ego of Dikya, played by Chokoleit.
For this role, Pia had to wear a jellyfish costume. Since her role was an alter-ego, she was voiced over by Chokoleit.
Ella Cruz, who played the title role, shared a photo of Pia in one of her scenes in Aryana.

Third Eye (2012)
Pia's first and only project outside ABS-CBN was for TV5's defunct horror weekly series Third Eye, which starred Eula Caballero.
In the second episode titled "Babae sa Breakwater," Pia was cast as Sari, the beautiful assistant of private investigator Rosanna (played by Lorna Tolentino).
The following year, Pia finally joined the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant, and after three tries, she got the coveted crown of Miss Universe.
