After being absent from the limelight for almost two years, actress Empress Schuck makes an acting comeback.
She will be appearing in an episode of the court drama anthology Ipaglaban Mo this Saturday, February 4.
Her appearance on the show also marks her return to ABS-CBN, after transferring to GMA-7 in late 2014.
For this episode, she co-stars with RK Bagatsing and 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival Special Jury Prize Winner Rhed Bustamante.
Empress first hinted about her acting comeback on Instagram last week.
She posted her photo with the production staff and with Rhed and actress Tetchie Agbayani.
Empress wrote in the caption, "Rolling, at last."
Yesterday, January 31, the actress promoted her upcoming episode in Ipaglaban Mo, titled "Paso."
She wrote, "After so long... I hope you can still support me on my very first after 2yrs
"Ipaglaban Mo this Saturday 3pm after It's Showtime. #IMpaso"
Empress started her career in ABS-CBN as a child star and did several episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya.
There were times when Empress also appeared in GMA-7 teleseryes, portraying the younger versions of lead characters.
This happened in Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin (2001), Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw (2002), and Etheria: Ang Ikalimang Kaharian ng Encantadia (2005).
In 2006, Empress officially joined ABS-CBN's talent arm, now called Star Magic.
She was given several roles in TV shows such as Super Inggo (2006), Star Magic presents Abt Ur Luv (2006), Lastikman (2008), and Your Song presents Underage (2009).
In 2010, the Kapamilya network finally gave her a big break via the fantasy afternoon series Rosalka.
During that time, she dropped her surname from her screen name and, as simply Empress, was given the title "Empress of Drama."
She continued to do lead and supporting roles in teleseryes such as Guns and Roses (2011), Mundo Man Ay Magunaw (2012), and Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala (2013).
After her last series ended in August 2013, Empress no longer starred in teleseryes, and instead, was given several lead roles in Maalaala Mo Kaya until mid-2014.
In November 2014, Empress made the transfer to GMA as a freelancer, to be part of Kailan Ba Tama Ang Mali, with Max Collins and Geoff Eigenmann. This TV series aired in February 2015.
But the next year, in April 2015, Empress announced she was three months pregnant.
She managed to finish the teleserye which ended its run in May 2015.
After she gave birth in September of that year, Empress did not appear in TV shows and focused on being a mother.
It was only last January 17 when Empress appeared in an episode of ABS-CBN's talk show Magandang Buhay.
