After playing best friend in viral ad, does Mark Joseph "MJ" Tam want to enter showbiz?

If you were moved by the "martir na best friend" in a viral ad for a fastfood chain, Mark Joseph Tam has love advice for you.

Also known as MJ Tam, the commercial model said he was not prepared for the strong reaction of the public to the Jollibee ad titled "Vow."

"Nagulat ako kasi hindi ko akalain na ganun ka-bilis mag-viral ang video," he admitted in an interview aired during the February 12 episode of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.

"Ang sabi ko sa sarili ko, ang sakit naman ng role na gagampanan ko.

"Pero kaya ko kaya yun? Kasi medyo emotional saka hindi naman ako masyadong gumagawa ng ganung scenes. Awa ng Diyos, nakayanan ko naman.

Mark Joseph recalled that it was in 2014 when his coach suggested that he join bodybuilding contests.

In his spare time, he likes to go surfing, hiking, and going to the beach.

How was he discovered before becoming a commercial model?

He narrated, "Yung agent ko kasi may shoot sila sa school namin. Nakatambay lang ako dun, nanonood ng shoot nila, inapproach niya ako kung pwede akong kuning model.

"Dun na nag-start."

The loyal best friend is glad that his commercial with Melissa Lauren Atadero (the bride) and Matthias Rhoads (the groom) became viral on the Internet.

"Hindi ko alam kung matutuwa ako na naka-relate sila o dahil napaiyak ko sila. Nagpapasalamat ako na na-appreciate nila and effective yung ginawa ko."

Does Mark Joseph have plans of entering showbiz?

"Hindi ko pa pinag-iisipan 'yan," he candidly admitted.

"Kasi nabigla pa ako ngayon, e, hindi pa nagsi-sink in sa akin. Bahala na kung ano ang kalalabasan nito.

If you're wondering about his love life, Mark Joseph admits that he is already married. (Sorry girls and gays!)

“Sa totoo lang, mayroon na akong asawa at anak," he said with a smile.

"Nagulat sila. Mixed emotions—ngayon lang nangyari sa amin ito.”

When asked to give advice to those who have fallen in love with their best friend but got #friendzoned, he said:

“Kung sino man ang darating sa inyo, mas hihigitan pa niya ang pagmamahal na inalay niyo sa mga best friend niyo.”

To date, the "Vow" ad uploaded on Facebook has garnered over 13 million views and over 335,000 likes.
