Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza’s teleserye Destined To Be Yours has just started airing its pilot episode and they are already eliciting “kilig” among viewers.
In the first sequence of the GMA-7 teleserye, Alden and Maine immediately showed chemistry as their characters Benjie and Sinag, respectively.
The series opened with Sinag’s voice-over as she entered the LRT wearing a yellow dress.
Benjie, who is wearing a formal suit and eyeglasses, was seen going down from his car to rush to the LRT train.
In a twist of fate, Sinag and Benjie rode together in one train. People pressed against them inside the train, causing them to come closer to one another.
The two looked at each other, held each other's hands, and smiled.
It turned out that Sinag is a DJ who does not believe in destiny. She was asked by a listener about her first love.
In a flashback to 2001, it was shown that a young Sinag and Benjie already met when they were still kids.
When Sinag got lost in a fiesta, Benjie saved her life after almost being hit by a tricycle.
Benjie helped Sinag to find their house. However, the two kids weren’t able to give their names to each other.
After Sinag told her story, it was revealed that the present-day Benjie has been listening to her radio show.
In this episode, which used the hashtag #DestinedToBeYoursWorldPremiere, audiences also had the chance to meet the families of Sinag and Benjie.
The parents of Sinag are played by Janice de Belen and Gardo Versoza.
Meanwhile, Lotlot de Leon and Matthew Mendoza are cast as the parents of Benjie.
