Sarah Geronimo makes a comeback as a coach for the Philippine franchise of The Voice.
In the reality show’s upcoming edition The Voice Teens, Sarah will join Sharon Cuneta, Lea Salonga, and Bamboo Manalac in the panel of coaches.
The actress-singer confirmed this in an interview with ABS-CBN News last February 28.
Th Popstar Princess revealed, “Para sa lahat ng mga aspiring singers na katulad ko, pinagdaanan ko din yon, this is for them.”
The 28-year-old TV-movie personality also addressed doubts and criticisms she got about her credibility as a coach in The Voice.
She recalled, “Everybody is parang nag-scrutinize, ‘Si Sarah, kaya niya ba mag-coach?’
“So medyo may, ‘Shocks, kailangan ko patunayan.’ Na-pressure din ako.
“Pero this time, ayaw ko masyado ma-pressure doon. Hindi natin matatanggal ‘yon.
“Gusto ko mag-focus sa talento talaga ng mga artists.”
In 2013, Sarah was supposed to star in her own drama anthology titled Sarah G. Presents. However, the show was shelved so that the singer-actress could be a coach in the first edition of The Voice of the Philippines.
She was part of the original roster of coaches with Lea, apl.de.ap, and Bamboo.
Her team produced singers such as Klarisse de Guzman, Morissette Amon, Maki Ricafort, Darren Espanto, The Voice Kids winner Lyca Gairanod, and The Voice of the Philippines season two winner Jason Dy.
However, in last year’s edition of The Voice Kids, Sarah did not serve as a Coach since she wanted to focus on her health and her personal growth as an artist. She was replaced by Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
Speculations that Sarah will return as a coach on The Voice arose when she was part of the singers that performed ABS-CBN's Christimas Station ID theme song last 2016.
Aside from this show, Sarah is busy shooting her upcoming reunion movie with John Lloyd Cruz titled Dear Future Husband.
Dubbed as a first edition of its kind in Asia, no airing date has been announced yet for The Voice Teens.
