Four more housemates were eliminated in last night’s Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7, leaving behind housemates from PBB Teens with the shot at winning the grand prize today, March 5.
Those eliminated were: Filipino-American model Tanner Mata was the Fifth Lucky Big Placer with 5.93% of the votes; two-in-one contestants and Hashtag members McCoy De Leon and Nikko Natividad were declared Sixth Lucky Big Placer after getting 5.22% of the votes; and Filipino-American Cora Waddell was declared Seventh Lucky Big Placer after getting 5.10% of all votes.
Housemates were welcomed by family members as soon as they stepped on stage, along with host Toni Gonzaga-Soriano. Of the eliminated housemates, Tanner almost quit the show, but later changed his mind, telling Toni, “Siyempre, I’m gonna get tired of it. But it doesn’t mean I’m going to give up working on it.”
As a result, this season's Big Four are Edward Barber, Kisses Delavin, Maymay Entrata and Yong Muhajil.
They all have the chance to winning the One Big Winner title. Votes were brought back to zero, giving each remaining housemate an equal opportunity at winning.
“Ms. Wacky Go Lucky of CDO” Maymay Entrata, who was chosen by the celebrity housemates to be one of the official teen housemates this season, is known for her funny faces and her humor. During her stay, she shared her pains of not having a father while growing up.
Yong Muhajil, on the other hand, kept his eye on the goal for the sake of his mother and 16 siblings. Despite coming from an impoverished family, the “Pag-a-Son ng Zamboanga” shared with everyone his contagious optimism and determination when it comes to facing various tasks.
The “Cheerful Charmer of Germany" Edward Barber showed his pusong Pinoy in all the challenges given to him by Big Brother. He even gave up his lucky star spot for his co-housemates, which earned him so much respect from viewers.
“Miracle Daughter of Masbate” Kisses Delavin, on the other hand, learned how to open up her heart to different people and the life struggles of her fellow housemates. She learned to be more confident and confronted her weaknesses by challenging herself in many tasks.
Held at Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna, last night’s episode also featured reenactments of some highlights from PBB Season 7 by contestants from Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.
Xia Vigor, Lyca Gairanod, AC Bonifacio, Alonzo Muhlach, Sam Shoaf, Awra Briguela, Justin Alva and Elha Nympha impersonated some housemates during their most dramatic and amusing moments, along with Nino Muhlach and Toni Gonzaga.
Also present during last night’s episode were previous winners Daniel Matsunaga and Miho Nishida, who assisted in giving the cheque to each runner up.
Touted as the longest running reality show in the country, PBB has been credited for launching the careers of Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, James Reid and Melai Cantiveros, among others. This season, which has been running for seven months, was the longest in the show’s history.
PBB is just one of the numerous spin offs of the original Dutch version of the show, created by producer John de Mol and first aired in 1999. The title of the show was based on one of the characters of George Orwell’s novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four.
