Filipina Gaby Borromeo impressed Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and country singer Blake Shelton during her blind auditions in The Voice US Season 12.
The contestant from Seattle, Washington sang Leona Lewis’s song “Happy.” When she finally reached the chorus part, Adam and Blake turned their chairs.
Adam even went up onstage to give Gaby a hug since he was impressed by her performance.
He told Gaby, "I'm very surprised that this was not a four-chair turn and I think you can win The Voice like no problem.
"Correct me if I'm wrong but when you started singing you seemed like you were nervous.
"And then as the song progressed, you came through the way that just blew my mind. You're unbelievable and you belong on my team."
The other two coaches who did not turn a chair for her were Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani.
Blake described her performance as “incredible.”
He also agreed with Adam about Gaby winning the contest, “He’s right, you probably can win this thing and it would be a shame to see somebody screw that up for you like Adam.”
In the end, Gaby picked Adam as her coach.
The aspiring singer took to Twitter to thank all those who supported her, especially since the video of her blind audition has already reached a million views.
She wrote, “Overwhelmed with all of your guys' kind words. Wish I could give you all hugs! Your support means the world to me! @NBCTheVoice #teamadam”
The Voice Season 12 airs on Star World at 2:00 pm, with primetime replays at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM, respectively.
In another tweet, she said, “Cannot believe my "Happy" by @Leonalewis rendition is almost at a million views! Wow! Thank you guys! @NBCTheVoice”
