How did It's Showtime's Tawag ng Tanghalan fare in AGB ratings?

After more than a year, Tawag ng Tanghalan concluded with its grand finals on It's Showtime.

Noven Belleza, a rice farmer from Negros Occidental, was crowned the first-ever Tawag ng Tanghalan grand champion on ABS-CBN's noontime show last Saturday, March 11.

He was able to beat five grand finalists in the singing competition’s grand showdown held at Resorts World Manila.

Noven performed “May Bukas Pa” to get through the finals’ first round and enter the final three. For the second round, he performed a medley of Air Supply songs "The One That You Love,” "Now and Forever,” and "Without You” that received a standing ovation from all the hurados (judges).

The 22-year-old Bukid Boy Wonder of Negros Occidental received the highest average score of 99.96% from the combined judges’ scores and madlang people’s votes, beating final three contenders Sam Mangubat (49.09%) and Froilan Canlas (45.78%).

As the first-ever grand champion of Tawag ng Tanghalan on It’s Showtime, Noven won P2 million, house and lot from Camella, a recording contract with Star Music, a musical instruments package from JB Music, a negosyo package, and a family vacation package.

Second and third placers Sam and Froilan, meanwhile, were given P500,000 and P250,000, respectively. Top 6 finalists Pauline Agupitan, Carlmalone Montecido, and Marielle Montellano also received P100,000 each.

Aside from the grand finalists’ final showdown, the program also brought together the competition’s hurados Rey Valera, Ogie Alcasid, Karla Estrada, K Brosas, Mitoy, Erik Santos, Rico J. Puno, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Louie Ocampo, Nyoy Volante, Jaya, at Yeng Constantino for a performance with past Tawag ng Tanghalan winners Boy Leonardo, Arnaldo Agarin, and Esterlita Linan.

AGB RATINGS. How did the noontime shows fare based on data from TV ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen?

Based on NUTAM (Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement) data, the Kapamilya show was 7.4 points higher compared to its Kapuso counterpart.

ABS-CBN's noontime show, It's Showtime, got an AGB rating of 23.1%.

Its GMA-7 counterpart, Eat Bulaga, registered a TV rating of 15.7%.

Case Solved, the show hosted by Dingdong Dantes that airs right after Eat Bulaga was able to get an AGB rating of 10.7%.
