It wasn't a surprise when Awra Briguela's name was called during the announcement of the winner of the 14-week long Your Face Sound Familiar: Kids.
His show-stopping performance as Nicki Minaj practically served as one of the highlights of the show's finale week, and by the end of the impersonation contest, he emerged as the grand winner.
US-based Teen Vogue magazine even described by Awra's impersonation of American rapper Nicki Minaj as "mind-blowing."
The Ang Probinsyano star was lauded both by the show's resident judges and audiences who helped push his total score to a whooping 95.4%, giving him an astounding 25 point-lead over Elha Nympha, who ended up in second place.
It will be noted that it was Elha who won the judges' score, but Awra's massive share of the combined text votes, was more than enough for him to secure the topmost place for the merged judges score and text vote percentage.
It may be recalled that Awra first broke the internet as an unexpected YouTube sensation with his viral videos. The sensational kiddie superstar admitted that he didn't really expect to win the competition, noting how competitive his fellow contestants were during the entire run of the ABS-CBN show.
"Sobrang higpit nila Elha, nila Sam, parang ayaw talaga nila akong papasukin sa grand finals," confessed Awra in a TV Patrol report.
He also took the chance of clearing up the issue about his rumored rift with Elha Nympha.
He pointed out that while there was a misunderstanding between them, it was normal and that the most important thing was "mahal naman namin ang isa't isa."
Asked what he will do with the P1 million peso cash prize, "sa savings ko muna..." he replies.
He revealed that it was all for his family which is why he keeps doing his best. A house and lot and a trip-for-four to Jeju Island in South Korea, were among the prizes awarded to Awra.
