GMA News TV's blocktimer The Fiercest of Them All discovered that one of its contestants is transgender.

This is according to a statement released through the show's official Facebook page yesterday, April 17.

The statement reads: “It has come to our attention that one of the contestants on our show, The Fiercest Of Them All, was not born a woman. We are currently looking into this matter.

"Thank you and we look forward to your continued viewership."

The statement, however, did not identify or mention the name of the transgender contestant.

This fanta-reality show, which began airing last March 5, is composed of 12 girls—a combination of local and foreign models—who fight to be the "fiercest of them all."

The show is hosted by Daiana Menezes, who acts as the "queen" of a fantasy world in search of the fiercest contestant.

The Fiercest of Them All was shot in Camp Kanawan, located in Bataan.

During its press conference, director Martin Rey Aviles was quoted as saying that there are surprises in store for the contestants.

He said, “There’s a hidden narrative, hidden to the girls. Even the girls don’t know about it.”

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) is open to any statement given by all parties involved in this issue.
