It is no easy feat for a TV show to last for more than one season.
During the '90s to the early 2000s, Pinoy teleseryes usually aired for more than one year, depending on their performance in the ratings game.
However, in 2004, Asian dramas entered the Philippine TV scene and became a hit among viewers.
In response, Pinoy soap opera producers trimmed down the usual airing time of one or two years to one season (equivalent to 13 weeks).
This is the reason why it is rare for networks to air TV shows for a year or more.
In ABS-CBN, 18 Pinoy teleseryes enjoyed a long run on television since the '90s up to the present.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) lists down these Kapamilya teleseryes that proved to be a hit among viewers.
Take note that this list does not include drama anthologies—both episodic (such as Flames) and seasonal (such as Precious Hearts Romances and Sineserye)—as well as shows aired on a weekly basis.
