GMA-7's comedy anthology show Dear Uge will not be cancelled.
This is according to a statement issued by GMA Entertainment TV Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable. This was sent to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) by GMA Corporate Communications earlier today, June 6.
Her statement reads: "Contrary to recent reports, there is no truth that Dear Uge is being replaced by another program.
"In fact, the show just celebrated its first anniversary and has been consistently winning in the ratings game."
Hosted by Eugene Domingo, this program dubbed as the first comedy-anthology aired its pilot episode on February 14, 2016 and has been airing for one year and three months.
Last Thursday, June 1, veteran entertainment columnist Lolit Solis reported that a show to be hosted by Alden Richards will replace Dear Uge.
In her column in Pilipino Star Ngayon, she said that Alden is the top choice to host the Kapuso network's upcoming show Textserye.
The following day, June 2, Lolit said in an Instagram post that GMA requested that she delete her post about Alden's show replacing Dear Uge.
GMA-7 also told the former showbiz talk show host that Dear Uge will not be axed and plans for Alden are still in the "drawing board."
However, Lolit stood by her posts since she said her source is reliable.
Textserye is one of the shows that GMA Network announced during its 2017 program launches teaser aired during its December 31 New Year's Countdown Special.
