Sharon Cuneta regrets that her plans to record a tribute album and mount a tribute concert for the late composer Willy Cruz did not materialize.

On the June 8 edisode of Magandang Buhay, Sharon Cuneta was moved to tears after her The Voice Kids Season 3 team member Antonetthe Tismo sang "Pangarap Na Bituin."

This song is one of the many classics that Sharon popularized, composed by the late Willy Cruz, who passed away on April 17.

Cruz penned hits that accompanied Sharon on her rise to fame, among them “Bituing Walang Ningning” and “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.” These songs have endured and have been revived by many artists since.

The Megastar confessed that until now, she has not yet gotten over the death of her longtime mentor and friend, and she is unable to perform or even listen to his songs without tearing up.

"Hindi ko pa makanta ang mga kantang gawa ni Willy Cruz, hindi ko pa kaya. Malaki kasi ang utang na loob ko kay Willy.” She said: “Noong nawala si Willy, hanggang Amerika ay nagluluksa ako.”

Sharon says she also regrets that her plans to record a tribute album and mount a tribute concert for Cruz were not fulfilled while he was still alive.

"You never imagine na mawawala ang mahal mong kaibigan, hindi mo iniisip 'yon. I realized na when he passed away na he's 70 and I'm 51. Parang ang bilis ng panahon, ang ikli pala ng buhay,” she told the hosts of ABS-CBN's morning show.

"Naabutan ko he was in the morgue. Basta sa lahat nang nawala sa life ko ang pinuntahan ko lang sa morgue ay si FPJ [Fernando Poe Jr.] at siya. Tapos ako lang ang nandoon, wala siyang kasama. Haba-haba pala noon, it was so empty and he was alone. Tapos wala akong magawa kung hindi halikan siya at magpasalamat.

"Saka mabuting tao 'yon at matindi ang faith noon kay Lord so alam ko na nasa heaven siya. I hope that he's proud of me.

"Willy, wherever you are, I love you so much. Maraming, maraming salamat," said an emotional Sharon.

The Megastar said she still wants to push through with the tribute album and concert. For now, she is preparing for her U.S. concert, among those who will perform with her is Antonetthe.
