After nearly six months since A Love To Last premiered on ABS-CBN’s primetime slot last January 9, its lead characters Anton Noble IV (Ian Veneracion) and Andrea “Andeng” Agoncillo (Bea Alonzo) finally tied the knot last night, June 16.

The story of A Love To Last revolves around Anton who is a 45-year-old CEO of a big tech company whose wife, Grace (Iza Calzado), left him.

Anton and Grace get an annulment and because Grace chose to stay abroad, Anton had to play dad and mom to his three kids Chloe (Julia Barretto), Lucas (JK Labajo), and Kitty (Hannah Lopez Vito).

Anton then meets Andeng, a 27-year-old event organizer whose own relationship crumbled when she caught her fiancee cheating on her. Anton and Andeng worked their way from being work partners (Andeng organized events for Anton’s company Celba) who were in denial about how they felt about each other to eventually being officially together to getting engaged.

It was a challenging ride for them with a number of people being against their relationship, but they were able to weather those storms to finally get here to their wedding day.

Here, Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) lists down 10 of the most touching moments of Anton and Andeng’s wedding day.

1. Anton makes breakfast for his kids

The episode starts in the morning of Anton’s wedding day. He gets up early to prepare a special breakfast for his kids. This is significant because it captures just how much his kids mean to him and how happy he is that all of them have given their blessing for him to marry Andeng. The journey to get to this place of acceptance, especially for the two older children, has been long and difficult. Anton’s gesture was meaningful not only for him, but for his kids. It showed them that they are an important part of their father’s happiest day.

2. Andeng gets a surprise gift from her nanay.

Andeng is surprised by her Nanay Baby (Irma Adlawan) with a pair of earrings as a wedding gift. The earrings were given by her late husband (Andeng’s father) on their wedding day. Nanay Baby gave the gift so that Andeng would still somehow have her tatay with her on her wedding day. Nanay Baby also remind Andeng that after the wedding, her priority should be her new family—her husband, his kids, and their future kids.

3. Chloe gets some alone time with her dad.

Chloe, Anton’s eldest child, catches her dad alone fixing his bow tie, and she offers to help him out. Anton says sorry to Chloe because he knows that Chloe had a hard time accepting Andeng as her dad’s girlfriend at first. Chloe tells Anton that there is no need for an apology because he has been the best father to her and her siblings, their one constant. She tells Anton that she will do everything to make sure Anton and Andeng are happy because after all that he and their family have been through, he deserves this second chance of happiness.

4. Andeng’s grandmother pays her a visit.

Andeng’s Mame (Perla Bautista) also gets some time with her granddaughter. Andeng thanks Mame yet again for finally giving her blessing for the wedding to push through. From the start, Mame was against Anton because she thought he was too old for him and that the situation was too complicated with Anton being married before and having his own family. She was afraid that Andeng would just end up being hurt. Even though there were many situations when Mame straight out expressed her disapproval, Anton remained respectful and determined to prove to Mame that he loved Andeng and would be there to stay.

After many weeks, Mame finally gave her blessing, which was the signal for Anton and Andeng to push through with the wedding.

5. Andrew is happy for Andeng.

Andeng’s half-brother Andrew (Enchong Dee) tells Andeng how happy he is that he was able to fulfill his promise to their late father that he would always take care of her.

When A Love To Last started, Andrew and Andeng were not very comfortable with each other. Andrew, whose mother was the woman his father left Nanay Baby for, always felt out-of-place with the Agoncillo family.

Even though he was raised by Nanay Baby herself, he considered himself an outsider, and always tried to make up for the sins of his parents. A few months into the teleserye, Andeng, Nanay Baby, and Mame each started to make an effort to include Andrew and make him feel part of the family.

Now, Andeng and Andrew are a lot closer. In fact, Andeng asked Andrew to walk her down the aisle together with Nanay Baby.

6. Tony Noble comes face to face with Anton.

Anton’s father, Tony Noble (Tirso Cruz III), has always been his worst critic. He was also very much against Anton remarrying because he wanted Anton to get back together with his wife (Iza Calzado) who left him a few years ago. He also thought Andeng was only after Anton’s money.

In an episode last week, Tony even went as far as talking to Andeng to convince her to sign a pre-nup. The talk turned out to be a good thing because Tony opened up to Andeng about his troubled relationship with his son. As Tony was about to leave Andeng’s house, he runs into Anton who was so angry that he told Tony that he would not be invited the wedding.

Andeng talked to Anton to try to be a better son by understanding his father. Even if his father hadn’t been a good one, he could still decide to be a good son. This led to Anton giving his dad a call to apologize and invite him to the wedding. Tony was shocked because he was expecting another fight with his son.

In last night’s episode, we see Tony making it to his son’s wedding. It was an emotional face-to-face with Tony tearfully telling Anton, “I really wish you good luck, my son.”

7. Anton sees the future as Andeng walks down the aisle.

With Juris Fernandez singing a slowed-down version of the song "A Love To Last," a Jose Mari Chan original, Andeng, who is a stunning bride, slowly walks down the aisle with Nanay Baby and Andrew beside her. When Anton sees her, he tears up and sees a glimpse of their future together, with a pregnant Andeng in a beautiful floral dress.

8. The priest’s homily is something all couples need to hear.

He says, “Anton and Andrea, the covenant of marriage is God-ordained. But the love to sustain your marriage is a decision that you make every day for the rest of your life.

“Isang desisyon to always protect one another, to be a refuge for each other, kapag sinubok kayo ng buhay, ng sakit, o ng pagkakataon.

“It is a decision to always trust each other, to overlook the wrongs, and celebrate the good. A decision to always hope that the best is yet to come, na magbago man ang sitwasyon niyo o ang nararamdaman niyo, hindi no’n mababago ang pagmamahal niyo sa isa’t isa.”

“If there’s one thing that history taught me, it’s this. Love needs work and I promise to work to love you. Every day. All the days of my life.

“And I told myself that this is the last time that I’m going to get married. I swear.

“And I’m so blessed to be the only person in this world who gets to love you. You are my forever and I’m so happy that my forever starts now.”

10. Andeng’s vows

“I will love you, Anton Noble IV, even if you fall. Moreso when you fail. Sasaluhin kita kahit na bumigat ka pa o hindi mo na kayaning lumakad.

“Salamat kasi pinakita mo sa akin na meron palang pagmamahal na tama, na meron palang pagmamahal na sapat na, na meron palang pagmamahal na kayang maghilom ng mga sugat, na hindi ko pala kailangan mag-settle sa kulang.

“You made me feel that I am deserving of your love.”
