Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 5 host and resident judge Cindy Bishop was among the first to congratulate Filipino-German model Maureen Wroblewitz for winning the hit reality-modeling competition.
The Thai supermodel and former beauty queen posted another congratulatory message for Maureen on her Instagram account after the show aired its finale episode last June 28.
Cindy wrote, "Congratulations my darling @mauwrob!!! You've defied all expectations on this competition. Well deserved! Go Philippines! I'm so proud of you!!! @asntm #asntm #asntm5 #ExpectTheUnexpected"
In a separate Instagram post on June 29, Cindy congratulated Maureen anew for bringing pride to the Philippines.
She wrote, "As expected, everyone is going crazy over the results of Asia's Next Top Model. #asntm5 Maureen Wroblewitz fans are giddy with joy and pride, as well they should be. You brought home the crown & are ready to take the world by Storm ;)"
The 38-year-old supermodel/host also addressed the negative comments that flooded the show's social media pages, as well as Maureen's.
After the announcement of the winner, Maureen was criticized mainly for being the shortest and least experienced model among the 14 finalists.
Cindy hopes that loyal fans of AsNTM will respect the final decision made by the judging panel composed of Ruby Adler, model agent of Storm Model Management, Adele Chan, editor-in-chief of Nylon Singapore, and creative director Yu Tsai.
The TV host/model continued, "I will not being saying any more on this, except this... The rules of modeling have changed drastically. We are seeing norms and stereotypes being challenged everyday, Body Positivity being celebrated in all its forms (including height) and an entire new arena of opportunity for models everywhere.
"Everyone is entitled to their opinion but let's please be respectful of each other, of all the judges who took their jobs very seriously and debated together at length to finally come to a decision, and finally of these three amazing ladies who should be extremely proud of what they've accomplished both on and off the show."
Cindy also congratulated the runner-ups, Shikin Gomez of Malaysia and Minh Tu Nguyen of Vietnam, for giving their best throughout the whole competition.
She wrote, "Shikin Gomez, you were such a joy to work with, professional to the utmost and always giving. You have a unstoppable drive to be the best and I can't wait to see what you will be blowing us away with next. Malaysia is lucky to have you as their queen. Thank you for being you.
"Minh Tu you really rocked this competition from the very first day and made Vietnam so proud. You were a true friend and big sis to many of the girls and so many people look up to you for that. And the fact that you are now the mentor of your own show is a testament to what a top model and inspiration you already are."
Towards the end of her Instagram post, Cindy thanked all the fans and those who were involved in yet another memorable season.
"Congratulations! To all the fans across Asia, thank you for watching and for all your passion. Thank you to my fellow judges Cara G Mcilroy Yu Tsai Photo and all the other guest judges. Shout out to Refinery Media and Fox Network Group for an amazing season. #asntm5 #asntm #grandfinale #asiasnexttopmodel #top3 #onlylovenohate Asia's Next Top Model."
