This Saturday, July 8, TV5 will finally air its most talked about episode so far for the TV-movie program Wattpad Presents.
D5 Studios tapped former Pinoy Big Brother housemates Myrtle Sarrosa and Richard Juan to lead the cast of Wattpad Presents: AFGITMOLFM. The meaning of AFGITMOLFM is one of the mysteries that this story will reveal.
The series will revolved around the cat-go relationship of Ianne (Myrtle) and Art (Richard).
Newbie actor Kino Rementilla will play the role of Nate, Ianne's boyfriend-turned-ex.
At press time, the teaser trailer has received more then 2 million views on Facebook:
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Richard Juan shared a few details on what to expect from this romantic-comedy TV movie.
1. Can you tell us a short background of your role in this Wattpad story?
Richard: "This is so hard to answer without giving away the whole story of AFGITMOLFM, but let me try though!
"My role is Art Felix Go, someone who’s main trait is being emotionless. He’s very popular in school, but unlike exactly opposite of a typical American movie jock type na popular.
"He likes being alone; he’s very smart [because he has photographic memory]…he’s one of those mysterious cool guy in school na parang you want to get to know him but you can’t because he doesn’t want to talk to you. Ganun type na guy."
2. Is this your first time to break into the acting scene? How did you feel when you got the part?
Richard: "I’ve actually done a couple of acting stints but this is my first lead role! I did some support/guest acting in some shows last year so I had a little bit of experience.
"I was ecstatic when I found out I got the lead role for this! I honestly didn’t expect it because I thought I wasn’t ready. In fact, I also remember how I was close to not going to the auction! I remember I actually kinda didn’t want to get into acting anymore after a setback late last year. But hey, I forced myself to go since I did not have work anyway that day so things turned out well! I’m so grateful that TV5 gave me this opportunity to prove to the world what I can do too."
3. How did you prepare for your role as Art?
Richard: "We actually had a script reading day where we went through most of the script with Direk Joel Ferrer so that we know what Direk wants form us. After that day I also went through the whole script a couple times in order to put myself in the shoes of the character. I also read the character profile like four times that the writer of the book, Rayne Mariano, made specifically for us just to really familiarize and understand what the character thinks…etc."
4. Were you able to relate with your character? Was there a time you also had an "Emotionless Guy" phase?
"I think I had an emotionless phase too but very different from Art’s reason. Art’s was because of his upbringing but mine was because of getting my heart broken a couple years ago……kidding! Hahaha!"
5. How is it working with your co-stars Myrtle Sarrosa and Kino Rementilla? And how were you able to develop onscreen chemistry with Myrtle?
Richard: "I was so fortunate to work with Myrtle and Kino, especially Myrtle! We were classmates back in UP and we used to talk about showbiz and working together in the future and who would’ve known that our first project together would be a leading role on a Wattpad TV-Movie!
"I think Myrtle and I didn’t have to really develop the onscreen chemistry as we’ve been good friends for awhile now! But besides that, we also have our professional side where we would give each other pointers on how to make each scene more natural and more relatable to the audience."
6. How do you feel now that the teaser of this TV movie has reached around two million views in a few days?
Richard: "I am beyond surprised! I initially thought it is very common for Wattpad trailers to have such huge reaction, reach and noise, but we were told by the team that it’s not common!
"I’ve been getting so many messages, and comments on my social media accounts that I don’t have enough time to even read through all of them! I’m just so grateful that so many people loved the trailer and are keen to watch the show. What’s funny is that even my aunts who are rarely on Facebook texted me and said they’re gonna be watching!!! I hope we all did the book justice in our portrayals and I hope the fans of AFGITMOLFM will love it!"
