Seventeen years ago, in 1999, teenagers avidly watched Angelica Panganiban, John Prats, Carlo Aquino, Camille Prats, and Heart Evangelista in ABS-CBN's youth-oriented drama series G-Mik.
Last July 9, actor Janus del Prado brought his followers on a trip down memory lane when he posted several throwback photos during his G-Mik days with Heart, John, and the rest of the cast.
He first posted a photo with John and Carlo that was taken in 2001.
In July 10, Janus continued to post more photos, including a barkada picture of the whole G-Mik cast.
He also shared his photo with the G-Mik girls Angelica, Heart, and Camille.
G-Mik premiered in 1999 and served as a spin-off to ABS-CBN's first youth-oriented series Gimik, starring Judy Ann Santos, Rico Yan, among others.
The show featured a younger cast which was composed by Carlo, John, Camille, Angelica, Miko Samson, and Stefano Mori.
Later on, Heart, Janus, Angelene Aguilar, and Danilo Barrios joined the cast.
The show had a tight competition with GMA-7's youth-oriented series Click, which had Angel Locsin as one of its cast members.
In an episode of Magandang Buhay in 2016, Angel revealed that she actually auditioned for Heart's role in G-Mik.
The show then ended on 2002 and was replaced by another teen-oriented series K2BU with Bea Alonzo, Shaina Magdayao, and Pia Wurtzbach as its main stars.
Today, Angelene, Danilo, Miko, and Stefano are already inactive in showbiz.
Meanwhile, Camille and Heart have already transferred to GMA Network.
G-Mik was also included in PEP.ph's (Philippine Entertainment Portal) list titled #SquadGoals: TV Barkadas that we miss.
The show also enjoyed a re-run in ABS-CBN's cable channel Jeepney TV from 2014 to 2015.
