JC de Vera admits he misses working with former Banana Sundae co-star Jessy Mendiola who’s no longer part of the ABS-CBN weekly gag show.
The 31-year-old actor said, “Hindi lang siguro ako. Lahat kami sa Banana Sundae, siyempre nami-miss namin si Jessy.
“Siyempre hindi na siya yung sumasayaw palagi.”
Without going into details, JC noted that it took some “adjustment” for him and his other co-stars with Jessy gone from the weekly gag show.
JC elaborated, “Kahit papa’no napalapit kami sa isa’t isa. Naging family kami…
“Siyempre, hard din for us. Pero kailangan mag-move on, mag-move forward.
“Kailangan may konting adjustments lang, pero we’re all okay.”
BACKSTORY. It was on July 16 when PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) reported about Jessy’s rift with the show’s wardrobe assistant.
Rumor has it that the unnamed wardrobe assistant allegedly insisted that Jessy wear a sexy outfit for a certain episode’s opening number.
Jessy allegedly declined to do so.
The Kapamilya actress, for her part, clarified that she had no problem wearing a sexy outfit at all.
Simply put, Jessy chalked it up to personal differences.
She did not, however, disclose the main reason why she’s no longer part of Banana Sundae.
FOLLOW-UP PROJECT FOR JESSY AND JC? Jessy and JC first worked together in the defunct Kapamilya primetime series You’re My Home in 2015.
Afterwards, they did the indie film, Salvage, also that same year.
Is there a chance for their teamup to be revived?
JC answered, “Looking forward ako for new projects again with her.
“Actually, meron kaming chemistry na hindi kailangan i-work out…
“We’re both happy about it. Siguro sana meron ulit panibago.”
JC spoke to entertainment reporters on the sidelines of the presscon of Salvage, which is Cinema One Originals’ entry to Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino that will run from August 16 to 22.
The presscon was held at Thai Barbeque Restaurant in Ayala Vertis North in Quezon City last August 1.
