Currently, catfights and confrontation scenes are part of the trend in afternoon TV dramas.
Sanya Lopez and Thea Tolentino's GMA-7 show Haplos, which tackles the supernatural, is no exception.
In fact, the two lead actresses have already engaged in several confrontation scenes.
One recently took place in a swimming pool when Lucille (Thea) discovered that Angela (Sanya) was spying on her.
Lucille immediately confronted Angela and the heated confrontation led to a catfight.
Lucille even pushed her into the swimming pool and tried to drown her.
Fortunately, for Angela, her boyfriend Gerald (Rocco Nacino) arrived just in time to save her.
During her birthday charity event last August 28, Thea revealed to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that she and Sanya actually had to reshoot the scene!
She recalled, "Nakakatawa yun kasi mahaba haba yun, mula dulo hanggang sa mapunta sa pool.
"Talagang nakadalawang take yata kami kasi parang ang bagal noong una naming execution.
"Tapos hindi namin na-hit yung tamang blocking kaya inulit namin tapos kahit papaano naman natawid. May mga linyang nang hindi nasabi, nagkakagulo na, basta ganyan hanggang sa mahulog sa pool."
The resident Kapuso kontrabida initially did not want to get her doll shoes wet, but she did not have a choice since she was thrown in pool while wearing them.
For this reason, Thea found it funny when Rocco removed his shoes and jumped into the pool while only wearing his socks!
She said with a laugh, "Nakakatawa kasi di ba tatalon si Rocco, isesave [si Sanya].
"E, ako, ayokong mabasa yung doll shoes ko sana! E, yun naman pala hindi kita.
"So si Rocco, tumakbo ng nakamedyas pala! Ang daya!"
Just like other Kapuso shows such as Ika-6 Na Utos and Impostora, Haplos also has its own stunt director when it comes to these scenes.
The 21-year-old actress pointed out, "May nagde-demonstrate muna sa amin ng para sa stunts, para masiguardong makukunan din sa camera, tapos kung anong magandang anggulo. Pinapanuod muna namin tapos gagawin namin ni Sanya."
According to Thea, she and Sanya have not yet hurt each other in these confrontation scenes.
The Protege female grand winner carved a niche as a kontrabida when she was tapped to play Barbie Forteza's rival in the defunct afternoon series The Half Sisters, which aired from June 2014 to January 2016.
Her last kontrabida role prior to Haplos was in the primetime series Destined To Be Yours where she played the third wheel to Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.
