Will televiewers see Paulo Avelino's exposed butt in his ABS-CBN afternoon teleserye The Promise of Forever?
At a September 4 press conference, Paulo was asked about the shower scene, where there's supposed to be a sighting of his butt.
“Feeling ko hindi eere kasi strikto ang MTRCB,” he answered, referring to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.
Pressed about the topic, the Kapamilya actor looked uncomfortable.
“May shower scene pero, hindi ko alam… sumusunod lang ako,” he replied reluctantly.
He did add that he wasn't sure if the butt-exposure scene would be shown.
But if it would be, it wouldn't be lewd because he was within a frosted glass cubicle.
“Kung frosted glass 'yon, hindi naman siguro kalaswa-laswa. Cute lang,” he said, smiling.
The Promise of Forever will air its pilot episode this Monday, September 11, 2017. The shower scene is expected to air on the fourth episode of its pilot week.
LOVE SCENE WITH RITZ. Aside from Paulo, the afternoon show also stars Ejay Falcon and Ritz Azul.
This is the first major ABS-CBN teleserye of Ritz, who used to be part of TV5.
Paulo and Ritz have shot one love scene for this series, which was partly shot in Europe.
Paulo said he tried to be professional during his love scene with his leading lady.
“I tried to be as professional as possible and, syempre, ayaw rin naman natin na mararamdaman ni Ritz na nababastusan siya o may pagkailang o taken advantage,” Paulo said.
“Hinandle naman namin in a conservative manner na hindi rin kabastos-bastos sa telebisyon.”
Ritz supported Paulo’s claim, and expressed her gratitude to him for taking good care of her.
“Gusto kong magpasalamat kasi na-feel ko yung pagiging gentle, ang pag-alaga mo, at pag-aaruga,” Ritz said, addressing Paulo.
She said she also wanted to give credit to their director for taking care of the intimate scenes.
“Saka sa director namin. Ang galing ng shots niya, sensual, hindi kabastos-bastos, at propesyonal ang mga tao, so trabaho talaga.”
The Promise of Forever is directed by two young directors: Darnel Villaflor (Honesto) and Hannah Espia (Transit).
In the series, Paulo's character Nicolas has a condition that makes him immortal. Ritz plays Sophia, the woman whom Paulo’s character falls in love with.
The immortal man who does not age becomes conflicted about allowing himself to love someone or to keep holding back.
For now, he has chosen not to fall in love, so as not to feel the pain of losing loved ones over and over again.
As he lives his life alone, he meets Sophia, a young girl he saves from a burning house. Thankful for her second life, Sophia makes the man who saved her an inspiration and she grows up responsible and working hard for her family.
After several years, their paths cross once again, this time in a cruise ship where Sophia works as a seawoman and where Nicolas is one of the passengers. Because of Nicolas’s uncanny resemblance to the man who saved her life, Sophia persists in getting to know Nicolas and learn more about his past.
As they spend more time together, they fall in love with each other, but the man's curse of immortality gets in the way.
To add to their troubles, Sophia’s lover, Philip (Ejay Falcon), will make sure that Sophia and Nicolas do not end up together and will do whatever it takes to win her heart back.
Also putting their lives in danger is Nicolas’s descendant Marlon (Tonton Gutierrez), whose mission is to end the life of Nicolas.
