Angel Locsin says it's not an issue if La Luna Sangre goes head-to-head against Marian Rivera's new show Super Ma'am.
Angel and Marian, tagged as rivals in 2007 during the run of MariMar, are now known to be friends.
During Angel's solo press conference for La Luna Sangre on September 7, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked if she and Marian talk about these things.
Angel just returned to La Luna Sangre after being part of the pilot week.
After playing her Imortal character Lia Ortega-Rodriguez, Angel will now be seen as Jacintha Magsaysay, a political strategist who will be connected to Sandrino (Richard Gutierrez).
Airing on the second primetime TV slot, La Luna Sangre is currently pitted against GMA-7's Mulawin vs. Ravena.
After four months on the air, the GMA-7 telefantasya is now down to its last two weeks.
Based on teasers aired on GMA-7, Marian's show will most likely replace the fantasy drama.
However, the timeslot for Marian's show has not yet been revealed.
This is not the first time that the two networks have pitted Angel and Marian against each other.
In 2008, Angel's first Kapamilya primetime series, Lobo, premiered in January that year.
In April of the same year, GMA premiered its own version of Dyesebel, starring Marian, in the same timeslot.
On January 27, 2014, Angel and Marian's shows premiered on the same day, but with different timeslots.
Marian's Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw, aired on the second primetime slot.
Angel's The Legal Wife, which was originally scheduled to have an October 2013 pilot episode, premiered on the third primetime slot.
The careers of Marian and Angel have been intertwined since GMA-7 decided to make an adaptation of MariMar in 2007.
Industry talk was that Angel was supposed to take on the famous role of Thalia. However, she turned it down because of scheduling problems.
An audition was then held for actresses of the Kapuso network. One of the hopefuls, Nancy Castiglione, had already transferred to ABS-CBN by that time, but she was still allowed to audition.
In the end, Marian prevailed, and got the coveted lead role in MariMar, signalling the rise of her showbiz career.
Angel transferred to ABS-CBN that same year.
