ABS-CBN aired the finale of the Bea Alonzo-Ian Veneracion starrer A Love To Last eight months after it premiered on the primetime block.
Featuring the TonDeng tandem, the family drama aired its finale episode last Friday, September 22, 2017.
Directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Frasco Mortiz, A Love To Last ended with tearful confrontation scenes but also heartwarming scenes and a very kilig ending.
The episode opened with Andeng coming to a surprise meal setup and specially prepared by Anton with decorations in the garden to boot—but heavy rains stop the couple’s reunion before it even began.
Andeng is determined to end her relationship with Anton. He notices that she no longer wears her wedding ring. They argue and cry in the rain, then kiss and end up in the bedroom.
However, the memory of Grace (Iza Calzado) and Anton kissing jolts Andeng back to reality and away from Anton’s arms.
Anton: Di mo na ba ako mahal?
Andeng: Di ko na alam kung paano ka mahalin.
Anton: I’m not letting you go because you’re the love of my life. I’m not giving up on us.
Through tears and in a tight embrace in bed, Andeng and Anton say their final goodbyes.
Andeng: Mahal na mahal kita. Kailangan kong mahalin yung sarili ko.
Anton: Wala na akong mamahaling kahit sino.
Meanwhile, Chloe (Julia Barretto) breaks up with her close friend Tupe (Ronnie Alonte). She says she does not want to end up like her parents.
Later, Anton and his children discuss their impending trip to Hongkong Disneyland to cheer up Kitty (Hannah Loez).
Kitty still hopes that her Mama Andrea (Andeng) can join them. But Anton is non-committal about this.
In the meantime, Andeng and her entire clan are eating out at a restaurant. Suddenly, her ex-boyfriend Jerold (Victor Silayan) walks in with his family.
They talk and catch up, noting how they have both changed. Andeng asks him if she was a difficult girlfriend.
Andeng: Mahirap ba ko ka-relasyon?
Jerold: Sobra mong mapagbigay. Pag nagkamali ako, ang sama-sama kongtao.
Pero nung tayo, minahal kita sa paraan na alam ko.
As Andeng rejoins her family at the dining table, she suddenly decides to go with Kitty and the entire family to Disneyland. Andeng’s relatives all run with her to the airport.
Anton has chartered a plane and the family is waiting to take off. Andeng runs through the airport terminal and manages to reach the tarmac as the plane is preparing to leave.
Kitty is the first to spot her. Anton, who has kept Andeng’s red scarf with him, alights from the plane and runs to Andeng. They have another tearful reunion.
Andeng: Saan ka nakakita ng tao na puwede mong makausap sa telepono for 12 hours?!
Andeng: I know you don’t believe in soulmates. But I think you’re my soulmate.
Andeng: It doesn’t matter kung wala tayong history. We have our entire lives to make memories together. You’re my family. I love what we have. Ikaw ang nagturo sa akin kung paano magmahal nang totoo. Na ang totoong pagmamahal, nagbibigay nang walang kapalit.
Andeng: Antonio Noble IV, mamahalin kita nang buong-buo until the last of my dying breath. Will you take your wife back?
Andeng tells Anton that she will go back to being his wife and mother to his children. They kiss and hug, Anton gives her the red scarf. Andeng’s and Anton’s families cheer for them.
At Andeng’s family home, the extended families are gathered. Everyone is happy socializing and eating.
Outside, Tupe arrives and Anton approaches Chloe, saying that he invited the young man. When Tupe arrives at her side, he says that after she graduates, then he will resume courting her.
Inside, while everyone is enjoying their meal, both Anton and Andeng reveal that they are doing well in their respective careers.
In the final scene, the couple walks to the site of their dream home and Andeng gives Anton a pregnancy test—revealing that she is pregnant. The couple happily kiss and a montage flashes to recap their colorful love story.
