ABS-CBN singer-actor Marlo Mortel cried during his guest appearance in Magandang Buhay.
In the October 5 episode, Marlo talked about his mother who was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer.
The 24-year-old actor admitted, "Sobrang sobrang hirap kasi lalo na, sobrang close talaga ako sa family ko especially my mom.
"So ako lang yung nagsusupport sa kanya talaga kasi yung daddy ko, nagwo-work before sa abroad.
"Pero siya yung taga-alaga ngayon ni Mommy dahil may Stage 4 breast cancer po ang mommy ko and ayun, kami ni daddy talaga nag-aasikaso, and, of course, with the help of my lola din."
At this point, Magandang Buhay host Melai Cantiveros handed Marlo a letter that was written by his mom.
After seeing the 24-year-old Kapamilya actor become emotional while reading the letter, Melai, and fellow hosts Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal also shed tears because of the touching moment.
Melai then addressed Marlo's mom who was not present at the studio.
Marlo reminded his mom to stay strong.
The former Be Careful With My Heart actor was crying while he said, "Basta, Mommy, magpagaling ka lang, yun lang naman ang importante.
Ayun lang, I love you mommy."
"It's all prayers which is the number one powerful thing na kaya naming ibigay din sa 'yo. So sabay sabay nating ipagdarasal ang recovery ni Mommy."
At the end of the interview, the Magandang Buhay hosts—also called as momshies—gave Marlo a hug.
Marlo is currently promoting his benefit concert titled Songs For Mama, which will be held on October 13 at The Elements in Centris, Quezon City. The proceeds will fund the medical expenses of Marlo's mother.
Former love team partner Janella Salvador, Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 housemates Maymay Entrata, Kisses Delavin, and singers Jed Madela and Michael Pangilinan will also be part of the concert.
Marlo has also started taping for his new teleserye with Sylvia Sanchez, Yves Flores, Maris Racal, and Arjo Atayde.
The official title of the series has yet to be announced.
