Wansapantaym is considered as one of ABS-CBN's longest-running television shows.
During its first run, from 1997 to 2005, the show originally had an episodic format, featuring stories that combined magic and reality while teaching kids about good values.
After taking a break for five years, Wansapanataym returned on air in 2010, featuring comic classics that were modernized for television.
In 2013, Wansapanataym changed its format and featured different installments that would run for five to eight weeks, while occasionally airing single episodes and replays in between installments.
Aside from Wansapantaym, ABS-CBN's news program TV Patrol also earned a nomination in the 2017 International Emmy Awards for the news and current affairs category.
Kapamilya actor Zanjoe Marudo also bagged a Best Actor nomination for an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya wherein he portrayed a man diagnosed with schizophrenia.
