Rufa Mae Quinto is now officially a talent of ABS-CBN.
She confirmed this through an interview with Push that published last October 25.
The comedienne will be part of the three-year-old weekend sitcom Home Sweetie Home that is top-billed by Toni Gonzaga and John Lloyd Cruz.
Rufa Mae said, "I am so happy to announce and to welcome myself for being with you guys kasi umiikot lang sa social media at nagiging trending yung mga snippets and clips of my scenes ng mga movies ko, so gustong-gusto na talaga nila yung comedy ko talaga.
"So ngayon, siyempre, pasasalamatan ko kayong lahat mga Kapamilya na nag-aabang at susubaybay po sa amin every Saturday after ng TV Patrol."
According to Rufa Mae, her transfer to the Kapamilya network was supposed to happen in 2016.
The 39-year-old actress was supposed to be one of the housemates who went to Vietnam for Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7 in July 2016.
However, she explained, "Kapamilya na ako dapat last year pa kaya lang na spotting ako, yung pagbubuntis ko, kaya na-ospital ako.
"Naging maselan ang first trimester. Hindi ako nakasama sa Vietnam."
It was also last year when she was supposed to join Home Sweetie Home.
"Bago pa ako magbuntis kinukuha na ako sa Home Sweetie bilang yaya noong araw, so hindi ko lang nagawa kasi buntis ako.
"Pero anyway, siguro timing din na ayon."
Now that she's finally joining Home Sweetie Home and ABS-CBN, Rufa Mae simply said, "Ngayon, talagang para dito na talaga ako. This is meant to be."
Yesterday, October 26, Rufa Mae posted a photo of her first taping day for Home Sweetie Home, where Piolo Pascual is a guest.
She wrote in the caption, "Home sweetness sa home sweetie home with Papa @piolo_pascual ! Go go go! On Saturday na ... todo na to."
She also posted a video wherein Piolo was carrying Rufa Mae's baby Athena Alexandria.
Rufa Mae wrote, "My little one @alexandriamagallanes loves #papaP @piolo_pascual thanks for baby sitting and keeping her warm with your embrace (braso de Mercedes) at taping lastnight #homesweetiehome"
In September 2017, Rufa Mae returned to showbiz after going on a hiatus due to pregnancy. She returned to acting via an episode of the Saturday crime drama anthology Ipaglaban Mo.
This sparked speculations that Rufa Mae is joining the Kapamilya network.
The comedienne has been affiliated with GMA since the start of her career, when she was part of That's Entertainment in 1994.
Back then, she was part of the Kapuso sitcom Ober Da Bakod (1994 to 1996).
Rufa Mae also did sitcoms with the Kapamilya network such as Super Laff-In (1996) and Arriba Arriba! (2000).
In 2001, Rufa Mae officially joined Bubble Gang and remained with the comedy show until 2016.
Even though she was a Kapuso talent, she was able to do projects with TV5 such as Enchanted Garden (2012), Positive (2013), and as Willie Revillame's co-host in Wiltime Bigtime (2012) and Wowowillie (2013).
