After being removed from Wowowin, Super Tekla has been given an exclusive contract with GMA Network.
"Matagal kong hinintay ito. Sobrang patience, talagang nagtiyaga ako," admitted Super Tekla in an interview with GMAnetwork.com.
The comedian spoke up regarding this achievement during the contract signing held at the GMA Network head office last October 25.
"Time will come na ibibigay ni God sa akin. This is it na talagang puwede ko nang i-claim na official at legit na Kapuso na ako, thank you, thank you. I'm so happy, sobrang speechless ako ngayon," said the comedian.
Present during the contract signing were Daryl Zamora, GMA Artist Center Senior Talent Manager, and co-manager Rose Conde.
Super Tekla thanked executives of the Kapuso Network namely GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon, President and COO Gilberto Duavit, Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, SVP for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, and GMA SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable.
The former Wowowin co-host said he will now concentrate on his career and avoid wasting this big opportunity given by the Kapuso Network.
"Ang aura ko ngayon, sobrang positive talaga, wala nang mga negative. Kailangan positive lang, work, work, work para sa mga Kapuso natin.
"Pinapangako ko na gagawin ko ang aking best sa tiwalang binigay sa akin ng GMA," promised the comedian whose real name is Romeo Librada.
DRUG TEST RESULTS. Prior to his contract signing, Super Tekla voluntarily submitted to a drug test in order to prove that he has not been taking illegal drugs.
"Talagang voluntary akong nagpa-drug test, to clear. Talagang sobrang certified po, nag-negative na po yung result ko ng drugs and I'm so glad.
"Thank you, thank you. Yung hassle kasi, feeling ko iyon yung harang para ma-achieve ko itong ganito kaya 'yon muna ang una kong nilinis. Sobrang, 'Thank you Lord, thank you!' Talagang sobrang negative yung result."
In a previous interview, Super Tekla admitted that he used drugs in the past but now, he said there are no traces of illegal substances left in his body.
"This is it, hindi totoo 'yon. Kaya sabi ko nga, ayoko na ngang magsalita, e. Pero to prove, to clear, para masara na yung haka-haka, wala na po akong drugs sa katawan. Fit to work."
From September 2016 to June 2017, Super Tekla served as a co-host of GMA-7's afternoon variety show Wowowin.
After leaving the show, the comedian appeared in Kapuso shows such as Sunday PinaSaya, Celebrity Bluff, and Sarap Diva.
"Sobrang nakakatuwa sa nangyari sa akin na puro negative nung una, talagang halos feeling ayaw na ako, o sasakluban na ako ng langit, e," recalled the former TV host.
"Pero thank you so much. Magtrabaho na lang tayo para sa mga Kapuso natin, thank you so much at talagang kung ano man ang ibibigay at ipagkaloob sa akin ng Diyos, talagang pagtatrabahuhan ko ito nang maayos. Thank you very much."
The TV host-comedian believes, "Mga pintuan na magbubukas and, of course, ang langit, mag-o-open wide. Bubuhos, mararamdaman mo talaga iyan.
"Be patient, yun lang, maging mapagkumbaba. Kahit anong gawin mo, alam naman ng Diyos kung saan ka ilalagay."
ALYAS ROBIN HOOD. Super Tekla is cast as Lady Yvonne in the Kapuso prime-time series Alyas Robin Hood. His character is the sidekick of Iris (played by Solenn Heussaff).

As a contract artist of GMA, he looks forward to working with Kapuso comedians such as Vic Sotto and Boobsie Wonderland.
