ABS-CBN actor Piolo Pascual rejoins Toni Gonzaga in the weekend sitcom Home Sweetie Home.
The actor-singer started appearing in the ABS-CBN comedy show last October 28.
Piolo reappeared on the show when John Lloyd Cruz took an indefinite leave from showbiz following the controversies he faced in the past.
John Lloyd, who is cast as the husband of Toni's character, has not appeared in the sitcom, following the announcement of his indefinite leave last October.
In Home Sweetie Home, Piolo once again played the role of Carlo Mendoza a.k.a. Gigil Kid.
In the past, Piolo's character was introduced as the cousin of John Lloyd's character.
During the premiere of the remastered version of Don't Give Up On Us at Rockwell, Piolo stressed that he is not the replacement of John Lloyd.
"When they asked me to [re-enter the show], like hosting, pinch-hit for him.
"Sabi ko, of course, that's Toni. That's my family. That's ABS-CBN.
"Whatever I can do."
Kung tumagal ako sa show, it's because kailangan ng show."
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Piolo how they would explain the absence of John Lloyd's character, he answered, "Hndi pa namin naa-address, honestly."
Until when will he be in the sitcom?
"Hindi ko alam. Sana alam ko."
Here are behind-the-scenes photos of Piolo's first taping day together with Toni, who plays Julie in the series.
Aside from Piolo, new Kapamilya comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto also joins the cast of Home Sweetie Home
This serves as Piolo and Toni's follow-up project after their movie Last Night, which was shown last September in cinemas.
This also becomes their official reunion in a TV show, after their supposed teleserye Written In Our Stars got shelved when Toni got pregnant.
Home Sweetie Home has been on air since January 2014.
