There were plenty of touching moments during the 31st Star Awards for TV 2017.
The awards night organized by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) took place last night, November 12, at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater in Ateneo de Manila University.
Three persons got tributes from some of the winners last night.
These were Franco Hernandez, Isabel Granada, and the grandmother of actor Ruru Madrid.
FOR FRANCO. Hashtags member Franco Hernandez died of drowning on November 11, just a day before the Gabi ng Parangal of Star Awards for TV.
CK Kieron was emotional as he was joined onstage by fellow Hashtags members Jimboy Martin, Wilbert Ross, and Kid Yambao.
They accepted the Best Male TV Host award on behalf of Vice Ganda. The It's Showtime host is currently in New Zealand to attend the wedding of Anne Curtis.
CK stopped midway through his speech as he tried to stop his tears from flowing.
"Itong trophy na ito ay gustong ialay ni Ate Vice sa brother namin, ang co-Hashtag namin na si..."
His voice trailed off as he paused to contain his emotions.
"Si Franco Hernandez. And bro, we know that you are watching over us and you will now be our angel.
"We love you, bro. Para sa iyo ito."

In his Instagram account, Vice Ganda dedicated his award to the late Franco.
He wrote in the caption: "My heart continues to break. This is just so painful. I dedicate my award to you my baby brother Franco."
FOR ISABEL. In the category for Best Single Performance By An Actor, it was a tie between Alden Richards (for Eat Bulaga Lenten Special: "Kapatid") & John Estrada (for Maalaala Mo Kaya: "Mansanas at Juice").
John dedicated his award to the late actress Isabel Granada who died last November 4.
The ABS-CBN actor recalled that Isabel was cast as the sister of his character in this MMK episode.
FOR HIS GRANDMA. There were two winners in the category Best Drama Actor: Ruru Madrid for Encantadia & Dingdong Dantes for Alyas Robin Hood.
When Ruru accepted his trophy, he took this opportunity to honor his grandmother who died on October 20, 2016.
The Kapuso actor narrated, "Noong ginagawa ko yung Encantadia ay namatay ang lola ko. Siguradong proud siya sa akin ngayon dahil ito ang pangarap niya para sa 'kin."
