Who would you pick as Pinoy F4 for Boys Over Flowers?

Akihiro Blanco, Alden Richards, and Marco Gumabao were some actors chosen by netizens to comprise the F4 for GMA-7's Boys Over Flowers.


Fans are starting to root for their idols to top-bill the Philippine adaptation of the Koreanovela Boys Over Flowers.

GMA First Vice President for Program Management Joey Abacan said that the network will hold nationwide auditions to look for the cast members of the local version.

A Facebook page called "Boys Over Flowers Philippines" has been conducting a "fan-initiated survey" to choose members of the Pinoy F4.

At press time, 23 actors are part of the survey.

Most of them are GMA-7 talents since the sequel will be co-produced by the Kapuso network with U Entertainment Movie and Drama Inc., a Philippine company with Korean counterpart.

Two ABS-CBN talents and one TV5 actor were also nominated to be part of the survey.

The Facebook page also wrote a disclaimer saying: "We only based our list on social media reactions and group discussions. The list may change depending on developments."

1. AKIHIRO BLANCO

Akihiro is currently leading the survey with 3.4K reactions, 452 shares, and 326 comments.

Akihiro started his career when he was part of TV5's Artista Academy final six.

He did several Wattpad episodes and played kontrabida in the network's remake of the Korean drama Baker King, starring Mark Neumann and Shaira Mae.

In 2017, Akihiro almost transferred to ABS-CBN. However, he had to back out of his two shows—The Good Son and La Luna Sangre—to focus on his movie career.

In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the actor is vocal in saying that he wants to try working in GMA-7.

2. ADRIAN PASCUAL

Adrian is a member of GMA-7's boy band T.O.P: Top One Project.

He was one of the winners of the reality talent search To The Top, the reason why he won a slot in the Kapuso boy band.

Adrian has also shown his acting chops in an episode of Magpakailanman.

3. GIL CUERVA

Gil was first introduced to the public as an actor when he won the highly-coveted role of Matteo Domingo in the local adaptation of My Love From The Star. He was paired with Jennylyn Mercado for this project.

The series ran from May to August 2017.

Gil also portrayed a Korean drama star in an episode of Dear Uge starring real-life sisters Angelika and Mika dela Cruz.

4. TEEJAY MARQUEZ

Teejay started his career in 2011 as part of the Kapuso youth-oriented series Tween Hearts.

He was part of the teleseryes Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin (2011), Home Sweet Home (2013), Anna Karenina (2013), and Pyra: Babaeng Apoy (2013).

In 2014, he transferred to ABS-CBN and was included in the teleseryes Dream Dad (2014) and The Greatest Love (2016).

In 2015, Teejay's Dubsmash videos, including his "Twerk It Like Miley" video, became viral on the Internet.

This paved the eay for him to earn the lead part in the Indonesian movie Dubsmash, shown in 2016.

5. NIKKI CO

Nikki is a Chinito member of GMA's boy group One Up.

He appeared in a few drama shows such as That's My Amboy (2016) and Sinungaling Mong Puso (2016).

Nikki is currently a performer-host in the game show Celebrity Bluff, along with the other One Up boys. He is currently part of the ongoing afternoon series Haplos.

He landed fifth in the survey, with 1.3K reactions, 118 shares, and 140 comments.

6. JAK ROBERTO

Jak, who is dubbed as GMA's "Pambansang Abs," placed sixth on the survey, with 1.2K reactions, 82 shares, and 66 comments.

The hunky actor recently starred in the Kapuso primetime series Meant To Be. This project is tagged as a Meteor Garden-inspired teleserye since the four male leads became good friends with one girl.

However, the only difference is that all the four boys liked the female lead, played by Barbie Forteza.

Jak also appears in the comedy shows Dear Uge and Bubble Gang, proudly flaunting his abs much to the delight of female viewers.

7. IVAN DORSCHNER

Just like Jak, Ivan was also part of the prime-time series Meant To Be.

Ivan started his career in ABS-CBN via the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash of 2010.

Ivan will be part of the upcoming drama series The One That Got Away starring Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos, Max Collins, and Dennis Trillo.

8. RICHARD JUAN

Richard was once rumored to play the role of Matteo Do in My Love From The Star.

At that time, he had just finished his stint in Pinoy Big Brother 737 (2015).

10. DERRICK MONASTERIO

The 22-year-old actor started his career as part of the youth-oriented series Tween Hearts in 2010.
