Sylvia Sanchez reveals that she "bullies" son Arjo Atayde on the set of Hanggang Saan.

Sylvia Sanchez admits that working with her son Arjo Atayde makes it easier to pull off her role in the ABS-CBN afternoon series Hanggang Saan.

In the upcoming daytime series, Sylvia is cast as Sonya, the mother of Arjo's character Paco who will commit a crime to save her ailing child.

The 46-year-old veteran actress explained during the presscon of their teleserye, "Actually, madali for me kasi humugot ng mga emosyon, pag malungkot o pag may nangyayari sa kanya, madali for me.

Yun yung advantage doon."

Sylvia candidly revealed that there were times when she bullied her son on the set of their show.

Laughing, she said, "Nagiging disadvantage sa amin kasi ako yung bully sa set! Binubully ko siya!

"Kasi siyempre, mag-ina, siyempre, seryoso kami pag eksena.

"So kapag nakakamiss siya ng Tagalog, 'Ayan, English pa more!'

When Sylvia was asked how she finds Arjo as an actor, she praised her son by saying, "Ako, sinasabi ko to, para sa baguhan, marunong siyang umarte.

This is the first time that Arjo and Sylvia will work together on a full-length project.

The first time they acted together was in the 2014 drama series Pure Love, wherein Sylvia had a guest role as the mentally-challenged mother of Arjo, who played the villain of Alex Gonzaga.

Mel Mendoza-del Rosario, creative manager of Hanggang Saan, said that this was one of the reasons why GMO Unit decided to bring mother and son together in one show.

GMO Unit is the drama unit helming Hanggang Saan, headed by business unit head Ginny Monteagudo-Ocampo.

Del Rosario explained, "Bale when we were doing years ago, we had another teleserye, Pure Love [2014] na si Sylvia dun ay guest lang namin, a very few scenes I think six for the entire run, bitin na bitin sila ni Arjo.

"First, they were excited.

"Sabi namin, pag nagkaroon ng concept na bagay, of course, they were the first ones who came to our mind."

Hanggang Saan is set to premiere on November 27, replacing the Kapamilya Gold series The Promise of Forever.

ARJO ON SYLVIA. Arjo was also asked by reporters during the presscon held at Dolphy Theater how he felt about working with his mom.

Turning serious, the 27-year-old actor revealed that their teleserye together came unexpectedly.

He said, "I can't describe the feeling, hindi pa po kasi nagsisink in sa akin, e. It's unexpected.

"I wasn't expecting to work with her this early din. Siguro, I just take it as a part of my journey, every blessing that's entering.

"I just enjoy each and every moment because I don't know when it ends. I'm thankful and I'm just very excited. I just can't put it into words."

Aside from Sylvia and Arjo, Hanggang Saan also features Teresa Loyzaga, Sue Ramirez, and Yves Flores and marks the Kapamilya comeback of Ariel Rivera.
