Angelica Panganiban will top-bill a new drama project with ABS-CBN after she backed out of her supposed teleserye Asintado.
She will be paired with Zanjoe Marudo in a light romance series titled Playhouse.
A short teaser was shown during ABS-CBN's trade event last Tuesday, November 28.
It showed a married couple—played by Angelica and Zanjoe—who were reminiscing about their past, colorful relationship.
Zanjoe's character was rekindling beautiful memories of their relationship, while Angelica remained stoic, except for a few moments when she would laugh briefly.
It was later revealed, through their dialogue, that their relationship is on the rocks.
Angelica already wanted to end their relationship but Zanjoe wanted to patch things up.
A young boy suddenly approached them and told them, "Thank you po, Ninong, Ninang! Kayo na po ang mommy at daddy ko ngayon!"
Last November 30, the story conference and look test were held for this new teleserye that is under the GMO Unit, headed by Ginny Monteagudo-Ocampo.
Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 second teen big placer Kisses Delavin was also revealed to be part of the show.
She will play the role of Zanjoe's younger sister in the series. However, her love team partner for this show is yet to be announced.
Other cast members include Dexter Doria, Malou de Guzman, Smokey Manaloto, and Nadia Montenegro.
Prior to this new drama project, Angelica was announced to be a part of Asintado, which was titled back then as Victims of Love.
It was later disclosed that Shaina Magdayao will be playing the role originally meant for Angelica.
Playhouse is Angelica and Zanjoe's first project as partners after 10 years.
They were able to work as a love team in an installment of Your Song presents titled "I'll Take Care of You," which ran for the whole month of June 2008.
Angelica and Zanjoe also worked together in the 2012 film One More Try. However, they did not share a lot of scenes in the movie.
Playhouse is set to air in 2018. Its official airing date and timeslot are yet to be announced.
