Two GMA-7 primetime shows got the highest rating pilot episodes in 2017, according to AGB Nielsen Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) ratings.
Before anything else, let us explain why there are two shows in the top spot. The ratings data we use to rank the shows come from AGB Nielsen, a media research firm in the Philippines. The data they send comes in one category; one example is the Mega Manila Household, which encompasses TV viewers in households that encompass the Mega Manila area--regions in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Mimaropa.
Calabarzon is composed of provinces Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon, and the city of Lucena while Mimaropa is comprised of Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
For this year, AGB Nielsen's data came in two formats: NUTAM and NUTAM People in TV. They are different, because NUTAM almost has double the numbers of NUTAM People in TV.
AGB supplied NUTAM TV ratings data on the first two months of 2017, then switched to NUTAM People in TV ratings from March 27 onwards.
For this reason, the top ten list of the pilot episode ratings have been divided according to the type of data set.
