Akihiro Blanco reveals the Hollywood actor who inspired him while doing his indie film Sikreto Sa Dilim.

Akihiro Blanco is praying that he will be part of GMA-7's remake of Boys Over Flowers.

In the South Korean series Boys Over Flowers, Lee Min-ho was cast as the leader Gu Jun-pyo, Kim Hyun-joong played Yoon Ji-hoo, Kim Bum brought life to So Yi-jung, and Kim Joon was known as Song Woo-bin.

"Kung papapiliin ako sa F4, siyempre, kahit sino naman gustong maging Gu Jun-pyo. Gu Jun-pyo tayo!" said Akihiro with a smile during a recent interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

"Kung hindi man Gu Jun-pyo, kahit sino sa F4."

Days after GMA announced that it would create a Philippine adaptation of the Koreanovela Boys Over Flowers, fans started coming up suggestions regarding the casting of the show.

A Facebook page called "Boys Over Flowers Philippines" conducted a "fan-initiated survey" to choose members of the Pinoy F4. At press time, Akihiro was in the No. 1 among the 23 actors suggested in the survey.

"Nagulat po ako sa survey na No. 1 ako. Nagulat ako, hindi ko ine-expect yun. Pero masaya ako kasi gusto ng mga bumoto sa akin na ako ang maging Gu Jun-pyo. Thank you po," he said gratefully.

"Nanood ako noon ng Meteor Garden. Alam ko parang ganun, parang si Dao Ming Si," he said, referring to the character played by Jerry Yan in the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden.

The former TV5 actor pointed out that he is more than ready to play the character initially played by Lee Min-ho.

"Kaya naman. Kasi nagkaroon na kong first Korean adaptation, yung Baker King. Sana masundan ng Boys Over Flowers. Pinagpe-pray ko yun.

"Magandang project. Sinubaybayan talaga ng mga tao yung Boys Over Flowers. Saka pag nakuha mo ang title role, kahit saan ka pumunta, ikaw na si Gu Jun-pyo."

SIKRETO SA DILIM. Akihiro is starring in a new movie titled Sikreto Sa Dilim. In this suspense-drama, Akihiro is cast as Angelo, a policeman with a dark secret.

Ralph Maverick Roxas is cast as the the young Angelo in this movie directed by Mike Magat.

As a young child, Angelo was physically abused by his biological father which is why he is taken care of by his adoptive parents: Tatay Rolando (Mike Magat) and Nanay Sandy (Lovely Rivero).

Sikreto Sa Dilim won the Independent Achievement Award at the International Film Festival Manhattan 2017 held recently in New York City, USA.

The film's executive producers, Ramon Roxas and his wife Myra Roxas, personally attended IFFM to receive the award in New York.

"Thriller siya na may action. May mga fight scenes," said Akihiro about this movie.

"Dream role ko talaga ang psycho kaya natupad na. Gusto ko talaga si Joker.

"Nung pinag-aralan ko yung script, nandun lang ako sa dressing room. Nagvi-visualize na ako. Nandun ako sa set, hindi ko sila kinakausap. Kaya pagdating ko sa set, nagulat sila. Pagdating ko sa set, para na akong nababaliw."

He then revealed that he had the late Hollywood actor Heath Ledger as his peg for his role.

"Gusto ko sana five months of preparation kasi yun ang ginawa ni Heath Ledger," disclosed Akihiro, referring to the method used by Heath for the 2008 Batman movie The Dark Knight.

"Sa Filipino movies, kailangan madalian, e." `

From RM8 Films Entertainment Productions and Sonza Entertainment Productions, Sikreto Sa Dilim will be shown in Philippine cinemas soon.
