Ex-couple Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras are reuniting for a teleserye soon.
They are the lead stars of GMA-7's upcoming drama series The Cure.
A story conference for the new TV series was held yesterday, January 15.
Also part of the cast are Tom Rodriguez, LJ Reyes, and Jaclyn Jose.
Ken Chan, who was last seen as Barbie Forteza's leading man in Meant To Be, gets a new partner in the series—Arra San Agustin. Arra replaced Kylie Padilla in the Encantadia requel.
Directed by Mark Reyes, The Cure was one of the GMA-7 shows slated to be released this 2018.
According to the teaser, this show will depict a family fighting against an epidemic.
It may be recalled that The Cure was already part of GMA-7's upcoming programs for the year 2013.
It was even rumored that Louise delos Reyes and Alden Richards would be part of the cast.
However, it took five years for the project to materialize.
Now that The Cure will finally air on television, it will will serve as Jennylyn and Mark's reunion after four years.
Their last teleserye together was the 2014 drama series Rhodora X.
Prior to The Cure, the MarkJen love team was cast in a special episode of Dear Uge in 2017.
Jennylyn and Mark's tandem is one of GMA-7's most prime love teams, after they won the Ultimate Male and Female Survivor titles in Starstruck in January 2004.
Since then, they were included in several teleseryes of the Kapuso network, namely: Forever in My Heart (2004), Joyride (2004), Encantadia (2005), and I Luv NY (2006).
The two eventually separated ways in 2006, focusing on solo projects as they were paired with other Kapuso actors in TV and movie projects.
After Jennylyn gave birth in 2008, she was reunited with Mark in her two projects for her comeback: Paano Ba Ang Mangarap (2009) and Ikaw Sana (2009).
