Angelu de Leon enjoyed doing the hair-pulling scene in The Stepdaughters after veering away from kontrabida roles for six years. Angelu's character had a confrontation with Glydel Mercado in a morgue.

Angelu de Leon said that she misses playing a villain role on television.

That's why when she was offered to do a special role in GMA-7's upcoming afternoon teleserye The Stepdaughters, she accepted it.

In the series, Angelu plays Brenda, the mother of Isabelle (Katrina Halili) whose family suddenly becomes rich after claiming a winning lottery ticket that is not theirs.

"I think yung character kasi ni Brenda here, it's very malalim, kasi may punto naman lahat noong pinangagalingan niya, yung kasamaan niya.

"Parang, 'Anong gusto mo?

"Minsan iisipin mo, morally, wala siya pero actually she's just thinking of her family."

Angelu spoke to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the press conference of The Stepdaughters last February 2 at Prime Hotel in Quezon City.

This is Angelu's first kontrabida role in six years.

She previously played the main villain to Jennylyn Mercado in the 2012 afternoon series Hindi Ka Na Mag-Iisa.

Some scenes required Angelu to hurt the child star cast as the young version of Megan Young in the upcoming drama series.

How did the 38-year-old actress deal with her scenes with the child star?

She said, "It's her first TV [project] so I had to tell her na... may ganito pa siyang request sa akin: 'Okay lang ho, saktan niyo po ako.'

Hahaha!'

However, the confrontation scene that she enjoyed doing the most was her hair-pulling scene with actress Glydel Mercado.

According to the former TGIS actress, she doesn't mind having a short participation in the show that will air its pilot episode on February 12.

Angelu pointed out, "It's a turning point for both characters, e. It's actually a turning point for Katrina.

"Pero at the end of it all, there's no small roles, di ba?  It's still an honor to do something like this because I'm with a good cast.
