Filipino Angel Bonilla makes history as first transgender in The Voice USA

Angel Bonilla admitted in The Voice USA: "I was born Carlos back in the Philippines."

“I was born Carlos back in the Philippines,” paglalahad ni Angel nang tanungin siya ng kaniyang pangalan.

“As early as five years old, I already knew that I am a girl trapped in a boy’s body.”

“Growing up in a very conservative family, it was very difficult for my father.

"When my dad saw me as a girl for the first time, he was puzzled. He’s not sure if I am his son, but he embraced me,” saad ng singer.

Sabi ng transgender contestant sa kanyang rason sa pagsali sa The Voice, “I wanted my father to be proud of me, and I’m doing this to honor him.”

Ayon nga ka’y Angel nang makausap namin through Facebook messenger, “This time I can tell, I fulfilled my dream...confidential pa. But I promise you are one of the first persons who will know and I will take care of you.. like the way you cared for me.

Narito ang kaniyang official NBC biography: “At the age of 6, Angel, who was born a male, could not ignore her feminine soul and strong sense of being a girl. Coming from a conservative Catholic family in the Philippines, transitioning was not easy.

"During this difficult time, Angel discovered her love of music. By the time she was 16 years old, Angel had transitioned into a beautiful young woman, and her family moved to the United States a few years later.

"Angel currently lives in Los Angeles, where she is pursuing the often difficult dream of becoming a singer."
