These actresses auditioned to be JM de Guzman's new leading lady

When ABS-CBN released the first teaser for JM de Guzman and Barbie Imperial's upcoming teleserye Araw Gabi, it was revealed that Myrtle Sarrosa and new GMA-7 actress Kelley Day auditioned to be JM's leading lady in the series.


A lot of ABS-CBN actress aspired to be JM de Guzman's leading lady in the upcoming drama series Precious Hearts Romances: Araw Gabi.

However, the plum role of Michelle in this adaptation of a Precious Hearts Romances novel was given to Pinoy Big Brother 737 housemate Barbie Imperial.

In a special video presentation made by RSB Drama Unit posted today, March 24, it showed how Barbie got the lead role in this upcoming Kapamilya series.

The video also revealed the actresses who tried their luck during the first round of auditions that happened on August 30, 2017.

One of them was Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash 2010 big winner MYRTLE SARROSA, who was last seen in the prime-time series La Luna Sangre.

Before transferring to GMA-7 this 2018, former GirlTrends member KELLEY DAY also auditioned to become JM's leading lady.


Star Magic actress and GirlTrends member CHIENNA FILOMENO also tried her luck. Had she won the role, it could have been Chienna's first mature role after being part of various teen-oriented teleseryes.

GirlTrends member DAWN CHANG went to the auditions even though she was part of the early prime-time series Wildflower at the time.

Star Magic talent ERIN OCAMPO was seen auditioning for the role.


Beauty queen KRIS JANSON tried acting for the first time when she joined the auditions. She won 2nd runner-up at Miss Intercontinental project in 2014.

It would have also been singer MICA JAVIER's first time to get a major role in a series had she won the role of Michelle.


Metro Manila Film Festival 2015 Best Supporting Actress PHOEBE WALKER attended the auditions. Even though she did not get the lead role, Phoebe will still be seen in Araw Gabi as a supporting character.

FIRST TEASER.
The first teaser of PHR: Araw Gabi was released by RSB Drama Unit today, hours after Barbie's video was posted.

The teaser showed the sensuality of the characters of JM and Barbie in the show.

In real life, JM is 10 years older than Barbie. Barbie is 19 while JM is 29.

PHR: Araw Gabi is based on the Martha Cecilia novel El Paraiso, which featured a May-December affair.

Martha Cecilia also wrote other PHR novels that were turned into TV shows such as Impostor, Alyna (from the novel Dominic), Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin (from the novel Pangako), Kristine, and Midnight Phantom.
