After being with ABS-CBN for several years, actress Sunshine Cruz decided to do a teleserye with GMA-7.
She is part of the upcoming Kapuso drama series Karibal Ko Ang Aking Ina.
A story conference was held yesterday, April 11.
Zoren Legaspi, Bea Binene, Benjamin Alves, David Licauco, and returning Kapuso Bing Loyzaga will also be part of the cast.
This is Sunshine's first full-length teleserye with the Kapuso network, even though she already did guest appearances in most of its drama shows.
Way back in the '90s, Sunshine appeared in several episodes of GMA-7's defunct drama anthology program GMA Telesine. She was part of "Manananggal" and "Ang Babaeng Nakaputi."
She also had a special appearance in the 2007 action-fantasy series Asian Treasures, starring Robin Padilla and Angel Locsin.
Sunshine used to be a mainstay of the variety show GMA Supershow and the comedy series Bubble Gang.
She was also part of the 1999 weekly series L, which was top-billed by Ruffa Gutierrez.
Sunshine's last guest appearance in the Kapuso Network was for the comedy anthology Dear Uge, which aired in 2016. This was months before she starred in the early prime-time series Wildflower, her last TV show with the Kapamilya network.
Sunshine's other TV shows with ABS-CBN were Marina (2004), Be Careful With My Heart (2012), Dugong Buhay (2013), Galema: Anak Ni Zuma (2013), Pure Love (2014), Oh My G! (2015), and Dolce Amore (2016).
Meanwhile, Karibal Ko Ang Aking Ina serves as Bing Loyzaga's comeback project with GMA-7 after nine years.
Her last teleserye with the Kapuso network was the 2009 afternoon series Sine Novela: Paano Ba Ang Mangarap?
Since then, Bing did various TV shows with ABS-CBN and TV5 until she took a short hiatus in 2014.
Bing's last teleserye was the daytime series Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.
Karibal Ko Ang Aking Ina was one of the titles teased by GMA-7 when it launched a promo plug last January 2018.
It has yet to be announced if it will be a remake of the 1982 movie of the same title, or if it is an original story produced by the network.
