Derek on ABS-CBN executives: "I had my hurt, they had their hurt."

Derek Ramsay returns to top-bill a movie produced by Star Cinema, ABS-CBN's film outfit.

He is the leading man of Bea Alonzo for the film Kasal, which will also star Paulo Avelino.

Derek reunites with Bea after starring in the 2010 Kapamilya series Magkaribal and working with each other for the 2007 romance film One More Chance.

“It’s amazing to work with Bea again. She’s my one of my favorite actresses, definitely one of the most talented out there. It’s really nice to be paired with her,” said the actor after shooting scenes of Kasal in Cebu for a week.

After being with TV5 for six years, Derek said he has patched things up with ABS-CBN executives when he left the Kapamilya Network in 2012.

How was he able to return working with ABS-CBN's film production outfit?

“I think it was just time. Time heals everything. I had my hurt, they had their hurt. For me, it was all one big misunderstanding that was caused by the respect and the love that we have for each other kaya nagkatampuhan,” he explained.

“When we sat down all together, Sir Gabby [Lopez], Tita Cory [Vidanes], we just voiced out what it was that happened. It was cleared out. We just gave the respect that we have for each other there and we moved on.”

He admitted: “Now, it feels like there’s a big thorn pulled out of my heart.”

After Kasal, Derek already has another Star Cinema movie lined up wherein he will have Maja Salvador and Arci Muñoz as co-stars.

“May susunod na daw na pelikula na with Maja and Arci. I’ve worked with both of them before, si Maja briefly lang and with Arci naman, back in another network. Nagse-scheduling na kami for that other movie.”
