Mariel Rodriguez returns to It's Showtime after two years

Mariel Rodriguez returns to It's Showtime after taking a break from showbiz for the past two years.

The wife of Robin Padilla appeared in the June 18 episode of ABS-CBN's noontime show where she was welcomed by Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Jugs Jugueta, Amy Perez, Karylle, Teddy Corpuz, Anne Curtis, and Vice Ganda.

"Masayang-masaya tayo kasi sa pagbabalik niya, isa na siyang ina," said Vhong.

"Grabe sobra ko kayong na-miss. Nakakaiyak pero pinipigilan ko. Miss ko kayo, grabe all of you," admitted Mariel.

"Na-miss ko talaga kayo, lahat kayong nandito, sa mga nasa tahanan nila. Na-miss ko kayong lahat it feels good to be back. It feels good to have a home to come back to."

Vice Ganda said fondly about the comebacking host, "Yung sira-ulong Mariel, wala."

In June 2016, the Kapamilya host left It's Showtime when she got pregnant with daughter Maria Isabella. In November 2016, Mariel gave birth to her child with Robin in the United States.

Mariel shed tears as she opened up about being a mother:

"It has been the best experience of my life. Really ang sarap. Ngayon, sabi ko nga, iba kapag nakakakita ako ng moms ngayon."

Mariel wore a white dress because she said she missed two weddings: the wedding of Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia and the wedding of Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff.

In a pre-recorded video message, Robin told his wife:

“Kapag masaya ang asawa ko, masaya ako.

“Sa sitwasyon namin ngayon na matanda na ako, bata pa siya (laughs) kailangan ako ang maintindihin yung pagbabalik niya [sa hosting] iba ang binibigay na kasiyahan na iyan sa asawa ko.”

Her former Pinoy Big Brother co-host Toni Gonzaga also gave a message for Mariel.

Toni said, "Alam ko magkahalong emotions ang nararamdaman mo right now. You have been such a great mom for a year and a half to Isabella. Witness kami kung gaano ka nag-transform from the old Mariel to the new mom that you are now.

"Marami ang naka-miss sa iyo at marami sa mga fans mo ang na-miss na marinig kang tumawa. We're just really so excited to watch you and see you everyday. We're always here cheering for you.

"Welcome back."
