Janella Salvador laments that there is no one to defend her from the "backlash" that she has been receiving lately.
The ABS-CBN actress used her Instagram Story to explain why she was absent at the premiere night of Elmo Magalona's latest movie titled Walwal.
She was not present at the red-carpet screening held at SM Megamall last Tuesday, June 26.
Janella wrote that she was prompted to release this open letter through social media because, “I cannot tolerate getting all the backlash because of someone’s wrong choice of words for the benefit of the movie."
The actress then said about her ElNella love team partner: "I know that he did not want to disappoint our supporters but it was at my expense."
Explaining her absence in the event, Janella wrote: “I was not ‘busy’ during the premiere night. I informed Elmo in advance that I would prefer to watch the movie in private and he agreed.
“He understood so that may be the reason why he did not invite me anymore. He probably just doesn’t know how to word things properly sometimes under pressure. Lesson learned, I hope.”
The Kapamilya actress said she at least deserves to speak up regarding this issue.
"I still sincerely wish the movie all the best," she also wrote about the movie Walwal, which is now being screened in cinemas.
She ended her open letter by posting an apology and explaining why she had to do this move.
“Again, I’m sorry. I’m sure you all know that I would always choose to defend Elmo (even he knows that) but I guess I have no one to do the same for me but myself.”
