Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park returned to the Philippines with South Korean superstar Nam Joo Hyuk.
Dara and Joo Hyuk had a meet and greet session with their Filipino fans at the Penshoppe Fancon on Sunday, July 29.
The event was held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had the chance to interview Dara and Joo Hyuk at a press conference before the show.
Dara said it's her first time working with Joo Hyuk and revealed some of her first impressions of her fellow YG Entertainment artist.
The actress/singer told the press, "It's my first time to work with him... and I thought medyo snob siya pero hindi pala.
"Ganun lang yung image niya kasi, di ba, guwapo? Pero he's really nice, friendly."
Their first-ever team up for a project was made possible by local clothing brand Penshoppe which they both endorse.
Dara recalled that she was the one who suggested to the brand to get him as their new endorser.
"Parang na nag-joke lang kami ni Jeff [Bascon]. Jeff is from Penshoppe and a close friend of mine.
"He was asking me, 'Dara, who do you recommend from YG? We want a male model.'
"I said, 'Nam Joo Hyuk, check him.' And then, nagulat ako one day, 'Tada, he's here!'
Dara hopes to do a drama series or a movie project with the 24-year-old actor.
"I was happy to work with him...Mas happy siguro if I can work with him in a drama or in a movie."
When asked what kind of project she wants to do with Joo Hyuk, she answered, "Wala pa pero definitely I want to do a rom-com kasi that's my favorite genre...
"And of course as an actress, yun talaga yung dream role ng mga actresses.
"What's funny is that we both played... there's a project called Cheese In The Trap. Siya naman sa drama, ako sa movie version.
"So sana next time, sabay na kami sa isang project."
For his part, Joo Hyuk said, which was translated by MYX VJ Sunny in English, "He wants to do a rom-com with Sandara and he's confident that he can make her laugh every day."
Meanwhile, Dara admitted that there are plans for her to do a movie project in the Philippines.
The 33-year-old singer revealed that her team is already in talks with a movie outfit in the Philippines and is just waiting for the right time to do a project.
She told the press, "Definitely movie, kasi meron nang mga nag-propose about a movie.
"So nag-usap na rin sila ng management ko so I'm just waiting for the right timing.
"Kasi alam ko, yung leading man, may ibang project. Busy daw. And then, when he was open, ako naman yung busy.
"Hanggang ngayon, yung timing, that's the hardest part pero I'm really looking forward for a movie."
